Flite Test Simple Storch Speed Build "Maker Foam" Electric Airplane Kit (1460mm)
This was my first and second plane and build. It flies so slowly and gently at times the other pilots were impressed. Its hard to stall. It recovers quickly when it does though. I built it with flaps and dihedral for the first one. Flaps are unnecessary. Dihedral is nice as a trainer but the second one benefited from the straight wing to offer a little better stability in gusty winds. Flapperons were tried but not needed. The slats are a nice looking addition but offered nothing this plane needed otherwise. This is a durable and able airplane. My second one was folded in half during combat at Flite Fest OH two years ago when a foamy T-boned it. I reinforced it and pasted paper over the damage and painted. Can't tell now. This is a great FPV platform. The only real weakness is the landing assembly. Zero give. A standard flexible "V" shaped assembly is a better option for beginner pilots and builders. A faux strut assembly is a nice addition later and not to hard to add if you are creative.
