The Flite Test Radial line of brushless motors are the perfect choice for a wide array of aircraft. These motors have been designed by the Flite Test team for top performance on Flite Test designs but also work great for replacement motors and custom projects.

The Radial 2218B motor is designed for Flite Test airplanes that require a "Power Pack C" size motor. It has been carefully designed and engineered to perform better than most in its class, every motor is precision crafted within tight tolerances.

When paired with the appropriately sized propeller, this motor is also more powerful than other similar motors in its size class, producing 20% more thrust while sacrificing minimal efficiency.

Featuring unique fins machined into the bell draw up cool air from the motor base and through the coils as the motor spools up. The faster it spins, the more air it ventilates. These cooling fins can reduce heat soaking by up to 30% depending on your environment. This “cool” feature allows the 2218 to not only have a longer lasting motor, but also harness the power of N52 magnets.

N52 Magnets are arguably the highest grade magnets available to date. These magnets provide improved acceleration, stopping power, and sustained RPMs during high kv.

Features:
  • Incredible Thrust Output (Over 1Kg/motor on 4s and most prop choices)
  • Integrated Cooling Design allows for reduction of motor temps up to 30%
  • Highest Grade N52 Neodymium magnets
  • Genuine Japanese NMB Bearings
  • Dynamically Balanced
  • 18mm Extended Prop Shaft allows virtually any prop with 5mm hole.
  • Windings made from copper of high purity

Flite Test "Radial" 2218B 1180kV Brushless Motor
I put these on my FT A-10 warthog. Flying a 5100 4 cell it has unlimited vertical and a great flight time. I’m also using the recommended 35a escs and they have done quite well even being inaccessible buried in the wing with zero air flow. We’ll see how long those last. Anyways, these motors have gobs of power and are a great replacement for the power pack C even though they are a bit more costly. Hey flite test, there needs to be a power pack C deluxe or something that has these in it. That would be great.

Flite Test "Radial" 2218B 1180kV Brushless Motor
What a great motor easy to install and will give enough power to any plane. I installed it on my House of Balsa Spitfire. and BOY is there power.

Flite Test "Radial" 2218B 1180kV Brushless Motor
This motor is available thru white rose hobbies llc. I plan on using this motor in the Freedom Fox with a 30 amp Eflite pro sb switchable esc. I might try running it first with the Hobbyking 20amp esc thats already in the freedom fox with a sunnysky 900kv 300 watt motor. Its has a 10x5 3 blade master air screw prop and on 3s its fine. On 4s it gets very hot both esc and motor. since I got this plane ive been obsessed with finding the perfect motor esc and prop configuration that has alot of power so you dont have to fly it on the wing the whole flight, and also avoid all the over heating and under power problems. I want this motor to work but its too short from the mount to the outside of the cowl so some modifications will be done to properly get the rite fit and be able to use the 3 or 2 blade props. its not bad looking with the nose cone off and the 3 blade will hopefully pull some serious vertical with this motor and the 30 amp esc. ill post back about how it went.

Flite Test "Radial" 2218B 1180kV Brushless Motor
Pretty good motors. They get 5 stars because of their high quality. The connections are really well made, and they come with all the mounting hardware which is always a plus! They get a little hot, even on 10x5 on 3s but you really have to push them to burn them. They are quiet too! They are expensive, but totally worth it.
