Flite Test P-40 "Maker Foam" Electric Airplane Kit (1066mm)
I built this SBK when it was offered in brown water resistent foam. The build video is clearly geared towards those who are EXPERIENCED BUILDERS in the Flite Test style. If the video puts you off due to rapid pace, I suggest referring to an older model build video where applicable built techniques are explained in greater detail.

Not being my first FT build, the techniques are fairly standard and understood. Ultimately, my feedback to the video producers at FT would be, though, please leave the rate at 1:1 and give timestamps in the video descriptions to allow viewers to jump to desired segments without having to sift through videos.

Back to the plane. Simple build, went together with ease. Would like to see retracts. I modded my model by cutting a couple pieces of scrap foam and then trimming in small segments of plastic straws, all fashioned together and painted to make more realistic exhaust stacks.

Never was a fan of the brown (flush it down) foam. SOOO glad to see FT move to the maker foam. Would I buy another FTP40 Warhawk SBK offered now in the Maker foam? You betcha! I hope you will, too!

Flite Test P-40 "Maker Foam" Electric Airplane Kit (1066mm)
I bought this plane when it was the brown covered foam . It was a nice build and flies very well . I made some modifications to the plane like added my own power plant and the motor box as I call it is made from wood . I also took the clear lid from a Swiffer container and made a clear wind screen and added a pilot . Will be adding lights soon I painted it army green added invasion strips and the Flying Tigers logo to the front . I hand launch this plane and belly land in a grass field so a skid plate was added . One would figure with the modifications I made it would be too heavy for flight well not so . This plane flies very well handles very nice and is very aerobatic and looks very good in the air .I get about 10 minutes of flight time depending on weather conditions . This would be a good trainer plane for someone wanting to get into warbirds . I have foam aircraft and I would say this plane ranks right up there with my foamies . What I like about this anyone wanting to get into this hobby can do it with out shelling out a lot of money cause of Flite Test . I have bought other planes from these folks keep up the good work folks .
