The Flite Test Mini Sportster is a smaller more agile version of the larger Swappable Sportster. It is a basic 4 channel plane that is capable of most Sport aerobatic manuevers. Couple this airframe with our Power Pack F for recommended performance.

Flite Test Mighty Mini Sportster Electric Airplane Kit (584mm)
The FT Mighty Mini Sportster is one of my favorite planes in my collection. I have been flying it for over a year and a half and have picked up on a few things that might be useful to anyone interested in purchasing this kit.
As far as the build experience, I found it not too difficult for it to be your first Flite Test build, although bending the landing gear was a bit challenging. I powered it off the former F-pack's 12 amp ESC, paired with the 2205 red-bottom Emax motor and a 2-cell battery.
When it came to flying it, I discovered that my power setup left much to be desired. It did have enough power to get off the ground and fly around, but as far as aerobatics went, it had no power for even just a loop. This made it frustrating to fly, and I shelved it for a while until I got my hands on some 3-cell batteries in hopes that they would yield better performance.
A 3-cell transforms the Sportster from a boring, under-powered plane, into a high-speed monster. It has fully unlimited vertical, great roll rate, and plenty of power to do just about any aerobatics you want, just shy of 3D. Since upgrading the power system, it has become one of my favorite planes to fly. I should mention that flying it the way I want to (lots of throttle and aerobatics) can heat up the 12-amp ESC quite a bit, especially on a hot day. I give it time to cool off, and only fly in conditions under 80 degrees, to keep it safe.
Particularly impressive about this Mighty Mini, is the way it handles wind. In spite of its small size, it is remarkably stable, and I have flown it in up to almost 20 mph wind with minimal ill affects. Its stubby wings and compact construction make it maybe the best windy flyer of its size class.
As far as the skill level prerequisite for this plane, I would recommend at least an upper level beginner skill before attempting to fly it. However, while I have not had the opportunity of testing it personally, after 30+ flights, it seems quite robust and durable, and would probably stand up to quite a bit of abuse if your skill wasn't quite there yet.
So that's my take on the FT Mighty Mini Sportster. It's the perfect choice for and intermediate pilot, but won't disappoint even if you're a skilled veteran.
