The Flite Test Mighty Mini Corsair is a plane you have to get your hands on.  The plane is one you have to see for yourself to believe and we couldn't be happier with it!

This little Warbird park flyer is the perfect size to always keep with you in the back seat of your car and is small enough to fly at most medium sized parks. Though this little Corsair doesn't have the 2,000 HP Pratt & Whitney R-2800 radial engine that the original full-scale warbird had, it does use a 2204 sized brushless motor that is commonly found on mini race quads. This gives this little 4 channel plane enough power to climb vertically endlessly and pull off most basic aerobatic maneuvers with ease.

Power Pack Compatibility:
Flite Test Airplanes are all designed around the use of various "Power Packs" which include an inexpensive Motor, ESC, Servo, & accessory package to complete each aircraft! The compatible power pack is listed below.

Flite Test Mighty Mini Corsair Electric Airplane Kit (609mm)
Cool looks in the air, pretty fast and stable. Fast build too, took me some two hours altogether.

BUT... really hard to balance. You'll have to add a ton of lead in the cowl. I had to add 1.5 ounces to balance it right.
Expect tip stalling at low speeds. Takes off like a rocket and lands like one.
Still, so far so good, it takes the beating well. I added 3" pieces of BBQ skewers in the wing tips. Otherwise wingtips get bent quickly and screw up the ailerons.

Had a great dogfight.

I was just playing around and a hawk came in along the treetops and started climbing rapidly to go after the plane. Luckily the Corsair had a speed and climbing advantage, I let it chase me for about 3 minutes before sweeping around onto it's tail. I was careful not to get too close as I didn't want to risk injuring the hawk. It got tired of being chased after about a minute and broke off, while flying around waiting for my timer to start beeping it came back, knowing my battery wasn't going to be good for much longer I immediately came around and chased it off before landing.

Most fun I've had flying in a long time, maybe best flight ever.
Glad it was the little Corsair and not the UMX Timber or it would have been a very different story.
The little Corsair flies so well and has nearly unlimited vertical on 3S, couldn't have asked for a better plane to be flying when the hawk showed up.

As other have mentioned, I also had to add weight to the nose, 1oz of lead got me balanced.
I set mine up with flapperons which helps on landings, not too much throw for the flaps, just enough to get a little more lift.
It does drop a wing if you're turning at low speed but if you keep the power on it rails through.
Very tough little plane and easy to fix when you break it.
I used flite pack F and my 850mAh and 900mAh 3S packs.

Flite Test Mighty Mini Corsair Electric Airplane Kit (609mm)
beautiful little corsair. love the plane, great for any plane enthusist or intermediate pilots looking for something quick and simple. DEFINITELY A STRONG INTERMEDIATE getting this airplane to balance right can be challenging. I would build the mini mustang first before building this one.

Flite Test Mighty Mini Corsair Electric Airplane Kit (609mm)
Good plane but hard to build. Would not advise as a first build. Instructions were hard to understand and Peter was using a different power pack. But flying is fun and the plane speed build kit is cheap.

Flite Test Mighty Mini Corsair Electric Airplane Kit (609mm)
I have built two planes from the diy kits. Both F4U Corsairs. The big one and the mighty mini. The Mighty Mini F4U is by far my favorite plane. I have multiple rc planes from war birds to STOL. This little guy flys amazing and was painless and quick to build. Highly recommend this plane. Now if they would just hurry up and restock them!
Thank you Flite Test for an amazing experience. You guys rock.

Flite Test Mighty Mini Corsair Electric Airplane Kit (609mm)
I want to scratch build this with my older sister, I'm 12, and my sisters 16, I don´t know how to build them. I know FT has a video explaining them but is there a video where they build one from scratch?
If they do that would be really helpful.

Flite Test Mighty Mini Corsair Electric Airplane Kit (609mm)
Overall a complex build but manageable. Don't know how it flies though because its such a sensitive little plane broke a wing off and it wasn't repairable. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who isn't an advanced flier.
