The Flite Test FT-22 is a fun flyer that beginners and advanced pilots can enjoy together. This 2 sheet design is the first of our new Simple Series, which uses the FT Elements Simple Firewall, instead of a power pod. Considering the sleek look of the FT22 and it's excessive elevon control surface throws, the FT22 is actually a very forgiving platform that we would even go as far to say that it would be a great first plane/trainer. This is an excellent introduction to bank and yank style flying. With a smaller motor and battery, this plane could easily be flown indoors in as small as a 2 court gymnasium and with a heavier set up it penetrates well enough to be flown in light to moderate wind.

Power Pack Compatibility:
Flite Test Airplanes are all designed around the use of various "Power Packs" which include an inexpensive Motor, ESC, Servo, & accessory package to complete each aircraft!

Flite Test FT-22 Speed Build Electric Airplane Kit (635mm)
Wow where do I even start, easy build, fun to fly and penetrates well with a bigger battery.
This was my 6th FT design and I was amazed at what it can do. I did not have a 1300mah battery so I went for the 2200mah 3s flite test use on most of their designs. It was quite heavy but I consider that a good thing because I had 25km/h winds for the maiden and it still penetrated decently where with a 1300mah I think it would have been a repeat of flite test's flying backwards video.
I would recommend building the explorer and then moving to this after you get bored of the explorers slow cruise type of flight

:After a few months of flying this design it is still my go to on a windy day or damp morning. I have built 3 of these because I like to fly in ground effect/very low with this plane. I have crashed about 8 times badly and countless minor crashes and only had to rebuild 3 times because of 1: Flying low and hit fence. (the fence was fine) 2: Losing 1 elevon control and crashing into a tree. 3: Coming out of a flat spin too low and nose diving. Note: I have also hit the ground at probably 50kph groundspeed (with tailwind) and only took 10 minutes of repair.

10/10 would highly recommend.

Flite Test FT-22 Speed Build Electric Airplane Kit (635mm)
Wow! This is such an awesome plane! I tried to learn to fly on the simple cub, but had little success. Every time you crash, you break a propeller, and the $ adds up... I was drawn to this design not only because it looks so awesome, but because of the prop placement. It is in the back, so when you crash (I have many times) you don't break a propeller, which is super awesome. It is really durable and can take many hits with minimal damage. I scratch built this, and it was way easier to cut out of foam then any of the other models, due to its very simple design. The simple design is also makes a very easy and fun building process, and Josh does a great job explaining everything. It has plenty of power on 3s with the b pack, and vertical was no problem. Overall, this is a super plane that I hope you get to enjoy!
