The Alpha was designed to be a quick and easy to fly build, an all-around best performer out of the Triad series. The FT Alpha is compatible with the FT Bravo and FT Charlie kits. Each airplanes’ wings are built to be removable from the fuselage, and can be swapped with any of the other Triad planes, giving the builder essentially 9 planes to choose from.

The Swapping Of Wings Takes Less Than A Minute And Is Supported By Rubber Bands!

There is no need to re-calibrate the center of gravity on the aircraft after swapping, the CG remains the same no matter what combination you configure. This is great for the flight line and swapping with others, making it an enjoyable experience for all.

We want you to have an amazing experience both in building and flying. This kit comes with everything you need to complete the FT Alpha Aircraft. Push-rods, control horns, firewalls and all other items needed to make this airframe electronics ready are included in the kit. If you choose to purchase our power pack F and battery, balance, flight performance and assembly will be quick and easy.

Flite Test Alpha Electric Airplane Kit (736mm)
Josh×2 and the Crew, thank you for creating a great way for people like me that were hesitant to enter this hobby because of the high cost to probable destruction ratio. My first plane scratch build and FLIGHT was with this Alpha and I absolutely love it and fell right into the controls after 20 some odd years of RC boats, trucks, cars that just came second nature after a couple flights. Thank you again to all of you, and what a great thing you are doing extending out to STEM. This video is my maiden, Huge smile on my face the whole time! (Next time I'll add a face cam lol)

Flite Test Alpha Electric Airplane Kit (736mm)
This plane was my first Flite Test plane, I have flown it on an A pack on a 2s and 3s. I then converted to an F pack on 3s and 4s. This is THE MOST versatile plane I have, it's flown in small spaces and it does fine. I once flew it through a tree and it went strait through, I flew it for another 10 min. after that. I have crashed this plane too many times to count, I don't know how it still flies. Overall, if you want a plane that can do acrobatics, cruise, or fly fast, this is your plane. Any skill level can fly this. If i had to pick one plane to use for the rest of my life it would be the Alpha.

Flite Test Alpha Electric Airplane Kit (736mm)
An excellent flyer. Painted grey, it looks the part! I run it on 4S 1500 with no problem! Added ailerons on a switch for original or extra crispy roll rates! Upsized a version to180% Calle “Big Al” and it rocks at that size! Fun and easy build!

Flite Test Alpha Electric Airplane Kit (736mm)
What a blast! The maiden was going great... then I thought I would add a little trim. I wasn't high enough and had a small crash (cart-wheeled it). The nose popped off but no other damage. 5 minutes later I'm flying again. Flew the whole battery, was going to add some trim to the right because there was a slight roll to the left... then I thought I would just enjoy flying it and have one successful flight before going to high rates!!! Build was pretty easy with a challenging nose and cockpit. I will paint this and try some more aggressive flights but will probably build a couple more so I have a couple spares. The neighbor kids always notice when I'm flying a new plane. This one in all white foam and loud motor really caught their attention! They had to come and check it out.

Flite Test Alpha Electric Airplane Kit (736mm)
This is an amazing airplane. The quality and design of it is stunning.
The only problem was that the foam was cut all the way through or not far enough. Just be careful with the push rods and control horns, they can break if tampered with too much. I haven't flown it yet because I'm still making it, but it looks like it'll be a great flyer. I recommend it for beginners.

Flite Test Alpha Electric Airplane Kit (736mm)
Maiden'd the Alpha this morning. This was my second Flite Test kit, the first being the 1080mm Spitfire(which is a great flier). As noted this build is a bit more complicated. Maiden went great. I had a little to much UP trim on the elevator. It is best to do this trim on the ground as both trims had to be changed on my FrSky X12S radio. I have the F pack motor, EP 6x5.5 prop, 1300mah 3s, a old 18amp ESC out of my Ares 370, FrSky RX6R receiver and flight pack senso. Servos are 9 gram recycled from another bygone airplane. I over lapped control rods most to the length with shrink tubing in three places rather than the tie wrap to the fuse as noted in the video. The shrink tube I used was a tight fit and after the flights this morning I realized I had not heated it to shrink it. I had to put a couple quarter oz weight on tail. I launched it similar to my flying wing, slinging it from the left wing tip at an up angle. I should learn how to do it left handed then I would have my right hand on the stick. I however have a lot of planes that I hand launch, and am use to getting my right hand back to the stick.

These kits are good shelter at home projects.

Enjoy. Chris

Flite Test Alpha Electric Airplane Kit (736mm)
This little kit went together well. My main problem was my own lack of knowledge in flying these pusher prop, hand-launched models. Mine was a solid performer and so easy to fly once I got it in the air properly. This is not like many hand-launched models. Don't give it wide open throttle on launch. Give it half throttle if that much. These tend to torque to one side depending on whether or not you use a CW or CCW motor and prop. I used a 2205 2300Kv CCW quad motor and a 5x4.5 quad prop. I'm running on 1300 to 1500mAh packs and getting about 4 mins flight times in hard open throttle flying. Less throttle could easily go to 5 or 6 mins.from a quad on mine. But CCW on a quad means CW on a pusher prop because you are seeing it from a reverse position. As viewed from the rear, it spins CCW but if it had been placed on the front of a plane, it would be called a CW prop and motor. I used 5g servos which are very adequate for it. I also used a 70A ESC because that was all I had on hand. It has unlimited vertical with that on a 3S LiPo. It's a lot of fun to fly but make sure you tame down the controls.
