The Exotek Rock Rey/Baja Rey HD Front Gearbox Set is a machined aluminum upgrade gearbox for the 1/10 Baja / Rock Rey. This heavy duty gearbox delivers extra durability and precision gear mesh and alignment that cannot be matched by the stock parts (LOS232003). The alloy construction ensures the drive shaft gear maintains 100% teeth engagement against the diff gear to eliminate the problem of worn gear teeth and poor gear mesh. Additionally, a larger 11mm bearing is included to better withstand the forces of high powered motors on the input shaft to reduce bearing failures there. Beautifully polished, anodized and laser etched for a showroom look.
NOTE: This gearbox housing includes only the gearbox housing; internal parts are not included.

This did not fit well with the upper chassis plate on the baja rey. More clearance is needed around the "hump" that protrudes through the chassis plate. I had to file the opening on the chassis plate bigger so that it would sit down onto this properly. Haven't ran the truck yet, but it's finally all together.. Hope I have no other issues with it. I should've spent $5 more to buy the competitors one.

I like exotek for quality craftsmanship. This gear box uses one upgraded bearing. 5x11x4 . And still retains the stock 5x10x4. The hot racing and ssd gear box upgrade to a 5x13x4 large bearings. I also found heavy gouging where bearings seat ,from machining. Bearing fitment was tight. Also needs filing on chassis brace where gear box meets. The hump on the gear box and over the top of gear box is too tall.I filed the top part of gear box and chassis brace. Fits flush now. Small file set from harbor freight.Overall quality i would give 3 star .ok part.

Exotek Rock Rey HD Front Gearbox Housing
I have been using this no problem. My baja rey is heavy and powerful so stock plastic was an issue. The backlash on the pinion can be set perfectly and there are no heat issues.
