The Exotek G.LOK pinion and spur gear locker is the ultimate pinion gear case for the serious racer. Unlike gear caddies that leave your pinions exposed to the elements, the G.LOK protects your valuable gears in a dust, debris and moisture resistant shell. The protective cover is securely held in place with a threaded center post and once removed can be flipped upside down and threaded back on for use as a parts tray!

The base is milled from a single piece of 6061 aluminum, so there are no pegs to assemble or come loose. Plus, because the case cover holds the pinions in place, you do NOT need to tighten the set screws to secure the pinion gears. Additionally, 3mm threaded holes are milled into the base for storing extra set screws.

The G.LOK case measures 90mm x 14.5mm, and will hold up to 9 pinions with a max pinion diameter of 22.9mm, as well as 1 to 2 spur gears (depending on spur thickness). For use with 1/10 pinions with standard 3.2mm holes and spurs with 4mm (slipper spurs) or 9.5mm holes (non slipper spurs). Machined spacer is included for the 9.5mm i.d. spur gears.

Exotek G.LOK Gear Locker Pinion & Spur Gear Case w/Parts Tray (Black)
I bought three of these cases, for my 540 and 550 car motors. I was hoping to keep my pinions organized and easy to find. And they are - for the 540's with 1/8th inch shafts.

Unfortunately, my plan to also keep 5mm pinions in two different gear sizes ( One/1 mod and 0.8 mod, for different cars) didn't work out.

Unknown to me, these wonderful, sturdy, well-made, beautiful, and otherwise perfect pinion carriers won't work for the larger gears. It's not deep enough/the gears are too long.

It would be an easy fix (for a low volume manufacturer...), and I would gladly buy at least two, in different colors, but as it stands, I have no use for two of them, and since I opened them all before starting to fill them, I can't return them. My fault.

I really do like these, and I do in fact highly recommend them - as long as you use smaller gears!
