This is an optional Exotek Flite Top Shaft for use with the B6.1, B6.1D, T6.1 and SC6.1. For the B6.1 series of laydown and layback transmission buggies - Not for the standup transmission.

Ultra light top shaft that has been drilled and the teeth narrowed for increased acceleration and a cooler running motor. Note, the Exotek top shaft teeth are 6.5mm wide which is wider than the lightweight Associated top shaft teeth, which helps prolong the life of the plastic idler gear.

In the world of ultra competitive stock racing at indoor tracks, every gram counts and there is no better way to separate yourself from the pack than having a more efficient and lighter drive train.

Substantially lighter than the stock shaft and slipper assembly when combined with the Exotek special lightened spur mount EXO1726, sold separately.

Only 9.2gr complete with hardware and 69 spur! Use optional alloy hardware for even more weight savings.

Recommended for stock buggy use only. Hard black anodized and made in Germany.

NOTE: Requires Exotek Spur Mount; EXO1726, and spur gear (sold separately).

Pros:

  • Extremely light weight
  • Less rotating mass
  • Lower CG

Cons:

  • You cannot use a slipper on the top shaft
  • Must use Exotek or Kimbrough spur gears.

Exotek B6.1/T6.1/SC6.1 Flite Top Shaft
this is one of the lightest and well designed slipper eliminator shafts on market with great machining. however, if your running anything over a 17.5 or on very high grip (carpet) you may want to keep to stock slipper. mine has worked very well on high grip dirt with a 17.5 just fine.

The weight savings of this topshaft are all well and good but it still strips idler gears on my b6.1 just as badly as the AE lockout did. I'm on my 4th idler gear now with the Avid slipper.
