EMAX ES08MAII 12g Analog Metal Gear Servo
I purchased the Axial SCX24 JLU and while it was fun, I found the stock servo to be somewhat lacking in power while on an incline. So, I looked around and came across these as a suggested replacement. Yes and no. Yes in that these are prob the only ones within the stock chassis dimensions and no because it's still slightly larger. The width (AS-1 vs ES08M) is 21.3mm vs 23.6mm (give or take). Off the bat you know you'll need to mod the stock servo tray. Either fidget with it a bit or buy a replacement that will fit the ES08M. You'll be better served if you trimmed the servo screw mounts a bit so it'll fit neater within the chassis. On my SCX24 JLU, it was just BARELY in between and would rub or hang when flexing. The wire comes straight down on these vs the AS-1 where it comes out directly at the sides. The cable is pretty damn long at about 250mm compared to the AS-1 at 58mm. That's pretty damn long for a tiny servo. Did I mention it was taller? So instead of the steering rod links being parallel with the front bumper, it'll stick out about 2mm. Not an issue but in case you're tight for space. So that's the jist for fitment.

It's noisy but has some power. Obviously since it is a bit stronger it'll make a little more noise. Now, noise is subjective so keep that in mind but I did notice these were noisier than the AS-1.

All in all, these are about the only ones you can buy to replace the stock AS-1 servo if you need something stronger. If you do find a smaller one that's just as strong if not stronger, reply and let us all know.

EMAX ES08MAII 12g Analog Metal Gear Servo
Love this servo as a great upgrade for my SCX24! It is a lot more powerful than the stock steering servo, and with some longer screws, can easily use the stock servo tray. With a little extra weight and more grippy tires, the stock servo was significantly underpowered and this upgrade turned my SCX24 back into a fun, crawling beast.

EMAX ES08MAII 12g Analog Metal Gear Servo
This thing walks all over the stock servo, gets the job done and adds a little more weight up front. Be prepaired to modify the stock tray of grab the HotRacing mount. Small downside...the wire is fairly long

EMAX ES08MAII 12g Analog Metal Gear Servo
I am sure this product has been satisfactory for some. My review falls into the not so satisfied category. I bought two of these to place into my very well aged ESKY Belt CP. One of the servos mounted in the elevator position just out right failed 10 months later resulting in a crash. It just moved into one position and would not respond to adjustments while flying. Needless to say my once stable BELT CP is now no longer around. I would not buy this product again or anything designed by this company. Congrats to the loyal Amain family that purchased this product and had no issues. My original JR servos on a 450 class built in 2008 and the JR servos on my 600 class built in 2007 are still going strong. The item should have had lasted 3 years before failure.

EMAX ES08MAII 12g Analog Metal Gear Servo
Servo seems like a major upgrade from the stock on my SCX24.

A warning for those with the Deadbolt SCX24: The shorter front links cause this servo to nudge the ESC tray when the front compresses all the way (I used a Hot Racing servo tray with the open back). The slightly rear-facing wires also compound this issue. I was able to just tape the wire over the top of the servo after folding over the tapered corner and used some tiny washers to space the servo out from the servo tray. Now it clears with little to spare. The servo ears also had to be filed down to clear the chassis rails. Just a touch from a dremel got it done for me. I knew it would be a tight fit going in, so not grading the product down for any of this. It also fits fine (with the ears adjusted) into the C10 and Bronco.

I've got a https://www.amainhobbies.com/ecopower-827-12g-digital-metal-gear-micro-servo-high-voltage-ecp-827/p1310408 on deck to try next, as it's got the side-mounted wire.

EMAX ES08MAII 12g Analog Metal Gear Servo
A of A&G Crawlers got me the Emax servo as a gift. I finally got this servo installed though it took some work. As a side note I am running the aftermarket Hot Racing link tight tolerance link and I bought the brass servo plate for this servo (Samix)to mount to my Deadbolt. The supplied hardware that comes with the servo is too small to be a direct fit. It will probably work fine for the crappy stock front link on the SCX24. My main complaint is that this servo comes with flimsy hardware to get this mounted, for being advertised as a direct fit for the SCX24. It seems like they should be including nice strong servo arms and hardware that could accommodate both stock and aftermarket links. After solving the servo arm puzzle the servo is noticably better than stock. I would recommend this servo if you're a hop-up guy or girl. Otherwise just buy the replacement servo form Axial. I cant say this upgrade is really worth justification I have 2 SCX24's and my stock one preforms just as well as my hopped up Deadbolt on the trail. If you run brass wheel weights or hubs in the front this would be a good upgrade.

I used this on an SCX24. Bit stronger than the stock steering servo. You'll need some careful customization or a separate bracket to mount this servo to the SCX24.

Great for the price. A definite step up from the stock axial servo. Watch some YouTube videos for proper installation. Nothing difficult at all with basic info for proper install.

I put one of these in each of my scx24 crawlers. The stock AS-1 servo is not bad, for a stock servo. If you are adding weight then please just spend the less than $10 bucks and upgrade your steering capabilities.

The servo is way better then stock but as soon as I upgraded the esc and receiver so I could control the 4ws much easier it burnt them up in seconds not even driving it just sitting on the desk while I was programming things stock set up they are fine on my other scx24 they work good even can turn mud slingers decent on foam but just speed the money on a higher voltage one if you plan to upgrade your esc

EMAX ES08MAII 12g Analog Metal Gear Servo
I already had one of these in the front of my SCX24 and it's great so when I set up rear steering this was the obvious choice. Tons of power, really strong. It's a tight squeeze in the stock servo mount but I got it in there.

This was a much needed upgrade to my scx24. After adding brass and aluminum wheels, the stock servo really struggled. This one solved the issue. I definitely reccomend getting an emax servo mount.

EMAX ES08MAII 12g Analog Metal Gear Servo
I would definitely by this Servo for a replacement. Now if you want the circle that came with your crawler that is $16.99 ridiculous. Especially for a piece of junk server like that. So the Emax Servo is the way to go
