This is the E-flite Ultra-Micro Bind-N-Fly UMX Carbon Cub SS Electric Airplane. The E-flite UMX Carbon Cub SS is a feature-rich scale BNF model that offers performance that's an escape from the ordinary. Like the full-size Cub Crafters marvel, the Carbon Cub is an immortal classic made more versatile than ever thanks to its high-output brushless power system and fully-functional flaps. Simply a joy to fly, you'll be able to leap from tight spots and cruise the landscape with confidence. Large credit for its gentle manners go to the onboard AS3X System that makes handling super-smooth, even in moderate wind. Unlike anything offered in its class, you'll discover agility that's rock solid—especially when diving in on that postage stamp called a runway. The UMX Carbon Cub SS is ready to fly in just a few minutes. Just charge the included Li-Po battery and bind to your full-range DSM2/DSMX 4-channel transmitter, such as the Spektrum DX4e. Go for a total bush-flying adventure and swap the stock landing gear for the optional E-flite custom float set (EFLUA1190), or expand your RC horizons with a friend and employ the top-mounted UMX sailplane tow hook!

Features:

  • AS3X System for smooth handling and precise control, even in moderate winds
  • Includes a top-mounted, ultra micro-size sailplane tow hook
  • Perfect for aerotowing! The tow hook equipped UMX Carbon Cub SS makes an ideal tug for the UMX ASK-21 (EFLU1280)

E-flite Ultra-Micro UMX Carbon Cub SS Bind-N-Fly Electric Airplane
I absolutely love this plane! I am very, very new to RC aviation having received a Champ from a RC car/truck racing buddy. After I got comfortable with the Champ I started looking for what's next. That's when I saw the early video's and pre-orders for the Carbon Cub.

I got at the beginning of the line and have had my Cub for a couple of weeks now. I characterized it as a slightly super size Champ, with 2S brushless motor, ASX3 gyro, ailerons & flaps. I binded it with my DX7S radio and was in the air in no time!

As a new flyer, I have yet to mess with the flaps and have the dual-rate on the ailerons down to 35% which allows me to fly it well. At times, I still need to be careful of the speed as it's considerably faster than my Champ so it covers a lot more ground. It looks super scale when flying and can handle a fair amount of wind. I also have to say that it's fairly resilient as I've crashed a few times and haven't had to replace anything yet.

I can see this plane being fun to fly for a long, long time, as the power, and variety of control surfaces yield lot's of performance capabilities.

Really fun to fly, feels like a real bush plane. fast enough BUT the wing is very weak right at the cock pit connection, I've replaced the wing twice. Ive now retired the plane and salvaged parts off it, the wing is too expensive to keep replacing. Even a slow crash landing will break the wing.

Great little plane! I bought it to learn how to use flaps and floats(I can now land in my swimming pool with it). Its a must bring for relaxing flight while my big planes are charging.
