This is the E-flite Mystique 2.9m Almost Ready-to-Fly Electric Sailplane. The Mystique 2.9m aircraft is an electric sailplane inspired by F5J-class competition and similar Limited Motor Run events popular around the globe. Like most sailplanes focused on performance, the Mystique 2.9m sailplane delivers an outstanding RC soaring experience, even if all you're looking for is a glider to enjoy on a lazy afternoon. Its impressive wing uses the versatile Selig SD3021 airfoil that's proven to be excellent in model applications with lightweight, open-bay construction by offering good low speed characteristics, as well as the ability to move quickly from thermal to thermal. The contour of the molded fiberglass fuselage is sleek yet provides ample room for its pushrods to run internally and still have room for a powerful LiPo motor battery.

E-flite Mystique 2.9m ARF Electric Sailplane
FULL HOUSE E FLITE MYSTIQUE
After many years of flying R/C gliders of all types and size , the Mystique is one of the nicest gliders i have ever owned !
It has received a few reports of wing failure..that was blamed on the wing joiner tube being to short and being glued to back or main spar instead of between upper amd lower spar . After my own experiance and many hours in the air , as well as speaking with 15 plus othe Mystique owners ..these wing failures were clearly pilot error / abuse .
The first thing that caught my attention was the beautiful fiberglass fuse and the flawless covering job on wings and tail feathers ..GORGEOUS .
The recomended power system is a great match but i went with a turnigy glider diver brushless motor with pins on rear of motor , rather than the eflite motor with wires the exit motor near firewall / front of motor . the turnigy motor has monster power , is quiet and the rear mounted wire connection is very clean and just makes sense .
Assembly of the Mystique is not difficult but has a few spots were you may find yourzelf scrating your head . Horizon has an entire video series on the assembly and it is worth watching ..
Once assembled you are rewarded with a sleek motor glider that climbs out very quik and will have you finding thermals in no time . Thermal detection is excellent ! Visability is excellent due to the great color scheme and shear size .
I have seen all kinds of aircraft fold there wing ...abuse and push any aircraft and you will get what you asked for .
I dont baby the mystique but i know i can not yank back on the elevator at high speeds .
It is a glider ..designed to climb out under power or high start and GLIDE. it is not a hot liner.
it is designed to fly like a glider ..not a jet !
The mystique is a beautiful glider , flight lerformance is excellent and a few negative reports are way WAY out of line with the truth ..I would go so far as to say the picture that pops up on a search of the wing tube torn out is misleading and loaded with very slanted words after pilot error!
This ship is well designed ,build , fit and finish is outstanding ..the Mystique 2.9 flys with precision and grace ..sure to become a favorite in your quiver in no time at all.
4.5 stars due to some of the assembly steps..there not major (at all if you have a few ARF kits under your belt } but do exist .

The Mystique 2.9 has performed with beauty , grace , performance and dependability !
NOT ONE SINGLE ISSUE WITH WING or any other component for that matter !
after 4-5 no so perfect landings , there are still stress cracks in gel-coat on fuselage .
I took a poll on one of the very well known RC sites and NOT one pilot out of many had one bad word about this superb ship.
DO NOT LISTEWN TO ONE OR TWO GLIDER PILOTS THAT FLEW THE MYSTIQUE WELL BEYOND IT'S LIMITS AND SUFFERES THE CONSEQUENCES ...BUY ONE , NEW OR USED ...AND UNCOVER WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN MISSING !
