This is the Castle Creations SV3 Sidewinder SCT 1/10 Brushless Short Course Combo. Castle has done it again, the Sidewinder SCT ESC is now waterproof! The Sidewinder SCT combo is designed for domination in short course racing truck classes. It's ideal for upgrading 2WD and 4WD 1/10 scale short course trucks to quality brushless power.
The Sidewinder SCT controller offers a 40% increase in power handling over the previous Sidewinder 1/10 but keeps the same great Sidewinder affordability and reliability. The 4 pole 1410 1Y motor offers 50% more torque than Castle's CM36 series motors of similar kv, and the included CC Blower fan and shroud will help to keep your motor cool so you can run with the big boys.
The Sidewinder SCT is ready to run out of the box, but it is completely Castle Link™ compatible, so drivers can use their Castle Link and Windows PC to tune and tweak all their favorite settings such as brake and throttle curves, throttle response, drag brake and many other parameters that add up to an incredible RC driving experience.

Although Sidewinder SV3 and Castle brushless motors are waterproof, always rinse the ESC and motor with fresh water after exposure to corrosives or dirt. While the motor and controller may be waterproof, Castle suggests users confirm that the rest of their vehicle, including the batteries, servo, radio and chassis, are also waterproof before exposing them to liquids of any kind.

Castle Creations SV3 Sidewinder SCT 1/10 Brushless Short Course Combo (3800kV)
This is a great motor & esc combo. I used it to upgrade my traxxas 2wd slash and it works flawlessly. The only issue i had was the pinion gear would slide off and strip the spur gear. (fixed with loctite) The castle link system only works with a PC, but the default setting is called "auto-lipo" and it seances the number of cells and cuts the battery off at 3.2 volts per cell. That is un-changeable without the castle link system. Overall it is a great product and i enjoy running it in my slash.

Castle Creations SV3 Sidewinder SCT 1/10 Brushless Short Course Combo (3800kV)
This is a beast of a motor. Please ignore Castles gearing chart- it is way off.
This motor in a SCT can be geared as high as 24t without going over 150 degrees!
I run this in a SC10 with a mod body weighing in at just over 7.5lbs and it will pull the front wheels up.
Unbeatable Torque- great for shorter tracks.

Castle Creations SV3 Sidewinder SCT 1/10 Brushless Short Course Combo (3800kV)
I bought one of these from another vendor and put it in my redcat racing blackout and wow! My truck went from snooze to bat out of hell. This is a great system and what makes it great is the price. I`ve seen more expensive systems that are not that much better than this. I liked it so much I bout 2 more for my other trucks. For the money and the performance you get it`s just the best thing you can do.

Castle Creations SV3 Sidewinder SCT 1/10 Brushless Short Course Combo (3800kV)
I liked this combo so much that I ordered a second one! If you are looking to give your vehicle a little bit more punch for a great price - this will do it.
My only local track is a VERY large and rugged 1/8 buggy track. It's really hard for us 1/10th 2WD guys to get around the track decently. Before this combo I had difficulty clearing all the jump sections - the speed and acceleration was just not there for me with the stock 3300kv Reedy. I put this combo in my RC10 T4.2 and I have no problems keeping up with short course trucks now and I can clear all sections of the track now with stock gearing and very little effort. I've had this setup out in 96* degree weather for 2 1/2 hours last weekend and it did not get hot on me and performed great!
The only issue I have had with both sets of this combo I own are the on/off switch and ESC fan. The ESC is waterproof but the power switch and fans have given up on me. I don't run my trucks in the rain - however I do wash them down quite well after each run and I think this probably did them in. Unfortunately I didn't realize this issue until I was on the track and kept intermittently shutting off on me. Great ESC just order a Losi switch when you order this combo and take the fan off when you wash your truck or run in wet weather.
