This is the Castle Creations Sidewinder Sv2 1/10 12V Sport ESC/Motor Combo, with a Neu-Castle 1406 7700kV motor. All good things from Castle generally get replaced with something even better. The venerable Sidewinder 1/10 ESC is one of those items. The Sidewinder has been replaced by the 40% more powerful, Sidewinder Sv2. The Sidewinder Sv2 is the perfect choice for upgrading 1/10+ 2wd and 4wd vehicles weighing 5 lbs or less to quality brushless power and speed. Of course this ESC includes all of the great Castle programmability and durability, only now it has lower pricing than its predecessor!

So how could Castle improve upon the incredibly powerful CM36 series? Work with motor guru Steve Neu to change the motor from a slotless design to one with a 1.4 inch diameter slotted stator. Then change the single neodymium rotor magnet from a 2 pole donut to a 4 magnet, four pole rotor for more torque. Throw in improved manufacturing, high quality bearings and a removable end bell and you have the 1406 series of high performance motors from Castle. The end result is a motor that cranks out 30% more torque with the efficiency and durability that Castle is known for.
