If u buy this u better stay away from any drop of water cause I was running mine one day and hit like a tiny puddle of water off the track and i seen smoke instantly and it ruined it of course. Other than that i love this esc and ordered another that im waiting on. you cant beat the price for this esc neither. Ive never had any running problems out of it. Buy it!!!!!!

Not a good choice. Have had 3 glitch really bad and 2 that have just burned up just by plugging the battery in.

BECAREFUL.... The SV2 can not run 3s very long. Even when you gear it right down. I burnt up 2 of them. I even ran an external fan. The one good thing is Castles warranty is top notch. They replaced both of them with basically no questions asked. On 2s you can't beat this ESC.

Castle Creations Sidewinder Sv2 1/10 12V Sport ESC
I use this in a MERV paired with a Traxxas Vxl 3m (380 size Vxl motor). I burned up a couple of Vxl 3m Esc's and switched to this. I am very happy with it. No cogging, runs much cooler, programmable (with the same card and computer interface I use for my 1/8 scale buggy with a Mamba Monster). Great price and quality.

great product! However i recommend a sensored motor due to some of the cogging issues.

Castle Creations Sidewinder Sv2 1/10 12V Sport ESC
My Sv2 came with no physical flaws whatsoever paired with a CM36 6900kv motor. Packaging wasnt damaged, motor was flawless, ESC was untouched. After installing this into my rusty i turned it on and hoped to start my fun. I was dissapointed. My vehicle cogged majorly and didnt ever actually get up to speed. It would cog and then roll slowly for a few feet before the ESC would blink red with its thermal shutdown lights. After taking it apart i saw that several serial busses were damaged and the contact area between one of the two capacitors was blackened. Im fairly new to RC but i do realize that me running the car once for 5 mins shouldnt have been enough to cause this issue. I may have just recieved a shoddy ESC because there are plenty of people out there who run this setup. If i could go back i would have just spent the extra money and went with a mamba max or mamba max pro combo. IMO i dont believe this ESC was really meant for anything over 4600KV...

watch out this system runs hot i would suggest to get a fan to cool this down alot. Thermal shutdown is realy annoying but other than that its decent
