Castle Creations Castle Link USB Programmer Adapter
Glad I purchased the Castle Link. I had been using my transmitter to adjust the ESC, but the choices are limited. With the Castle Link I have been able to make these more subtle changes which have decreased my lap times:

1. Changed my drag brake 1% AT at a time to find the perfect amount for our track.
2. Tested the KV of my motor to make sure it is healthy and have a better understanding of what gearing I should be using. (I've found the KV numbers printed on most motors can be off a little)
3. Limited my torque to help minimize tire spin coming out of corners.
4. Minimized the "dead zone" at neutral throttle so my throttle engages the instant I squeeze it.
5 Adjusted my brake (throttle trigger) to get the most amount of brake without locking up the tires.
6. Created a slight amount of exponential on the throttle.

I'm an old school driver from back in the 70's & 80's. (my first speed controller was a ceramic resister with a wiper arm) I didn't think the subtle changes available with the Castle Link would make much difference, BUT THEY DO !!!!
Before you buy a new motor, or change your gears, or try new tires, do yourself a favor and apply some real science to your performance.

If my RC racing equipment was stolen and I had to replace it all, the Castle Link would be the first thing I bought after replacing the car and radio.

Castle Creations Castle Link USB Programmer Adapter
I have a Phoenix ICE 2 HV120 that I wanted to program. This USB programmer was easy to use: Just installed the software (downloaded from www.castlecreations.com/downloads), connected the USB dongle (driver installed automatically because of the previous install), then powered up the ESC and connected it to the USB dongle. Rather easy menus, with context sensitive help for most settings. One snag was that the software didn't like to be installed on my system disk (which happens to be J:, not C:), so I had to install it on my data disk (which is C:). But apart from that, you get a good GUI where every setting is clearly visible. I also liked the feature that you can save all settings to disk (can't just rely on the ESC to hold the settings; might suffer a LiPo fire at any time). You also get access to a flight log which seems both great fun and really useful (e.g. maximum current usage, voltage dips etc.), but I haven't tested it yet. But so far, 5 stars.

Simple to use, download the application of castle link on the pc and connect the castle link to the pc and the esc and set to taste. It gives you many possibilities of adjustments, the bad thing is that if you have to modify some parameter in circuit you must take the portable pc. Otherwise perfect.
