The Blade Nano S3 Ready-to-Fly Basic Electric Flybarless Helicopter with AS3X and SAFE technology builds on the widely popular Nano S and offers technology improvements including built-in voltage telemetry right to your compatible Spektrum transmitter. 3D aerobatic expertise is easier than ever with updated features that make mastering difficult maneuvers such as flips and inverted flight easier to learn for all skill levels.

A updated flight controller comes totally re-tuned from the ground up improving AS3X stability, an improved SAFE mode with angle demand, and an improved panic recovery. On top of that, the SAFE Z altitude control utilizes the on-board accelerometer to keep the heli at a consistent altitude. With its vertically mounted flight controller, it significantly improves damping and removes vibration to the gyro. Linear servos deliver the muscle for impressive control authority while the 45C LiPo flight battery produces efficient power for 3D flight.

Construction with super-resilient polymers along with a carbon-fiber main shaft and tail boom give the model's lightweight airframe amazing durability. Most impacts that occur while practicing 3D maneuvers cause no harm. If you do happen to need a repair, nearly all the parts from the Nano S2 are compatible with the updated Nano S.

Features:

  • Integrated Telemetry
  • Durable design
  • Powerful coreless motors allow for advanced 3D maneuvers.
  • Light Weight - Low disc loading for advanced aerobatics.
  • Linear Servos Provide faster response and better holding torque over normal rotary servos.

Blade Nano S3 RTF Flybarless Electric Helicopter
Item description is inaccurate. They give you the information for a different model helicopter, the 230 S. The Nano S3 does not come with a DXS transmitter or 3S LiPo battery.

Blade Nano S3 RTF Flybarless Electric Helicopter
The transmitter that comes with it limits the maneuvers. The battery only lasts 2-3 minutes.

Blade Nano S3 RTF Flybarless Electric Helicopter
It's a great helicopter for learning new tricks. 3D mode is great! Puts up with some good abuse without breaking on soft ground. . Personally like to try new things on a simulator then s3 then 230s .

Blade Nano S3 RTF Flybarless Electric Helicopter
Dang this thing is cool. Buy 2, one for flight and one for spare parts, thank me later. I bought this and the RTF version so I could stay airborne as long as possible. I am a novice pilot, with only a few other Blade CP's and 230's under my belt. I urge you to consider the BNF model and the best DSMX Spektrum transmitter you can afford. The RTF is indeed RTF, but the Collective control on mode 2 (3d mode) is nothing short of impossible to control for a beginner. Even with the reduced settings on the Dual Rates, the Collective Pitch is too sensitive. When adjusting yaw with the rudder, it is WAY too easy to send your bird hurtling towards the ground with an errant input on the Collective. It will shoot into the turf quicker than you can hit the panic button (ask me how I know.)

That said, if you want to get your feet wet with fixed pitch or have the calmness/smoothness of a shaolin monk on Mode 2, then by all means get the RTF.

Either way, it is a beautiful little machine. The Gyro is amazing, the heli is stable and predictable, and you can fly it inside or outdoors with light winds. It is a way lower barrier to entry than anything I had growing up. I love being able to literally walk outside to my driveway and start practicing figure 8's and steady hovers, rather than driving 45 min to an airfield to which I do not have a membership and flying a nitro bird that costs as much as my motorcycle. Get one, crash it, fix it, crash it, fix it (etc.)
