This is the Blade 180 CFX Bind-N-Fly Basic Electric Flybarless Helicopter. From the masters of micro-heli innovation is a 3D machine that breaks all the rules of performance. That’s because the Blade 180 CFX packs everything you’d expect from a 700-size, pro-class electric heli into a ballistic machine you can 3D just about anywhere!

Digital, rotary servos are mounted inside carbon fiber frames with optimized servo geometry. The Spektrum AS3X flybarless system now includes piro-compensation to offer control that’s kinetic in every orientation. Because performance is nothing without power, a high-speed brushless outrunner motor, Castle ESC and 3S Li-Po battery deliver incredible authority to both the flybarless head and torque-tube driven tail rotor. Never before has it been this easy to get a high-performance 3D heli. Never has a micro-class heli been made so capable.

Features:

  • Optimized Servo Geometry: Optimized servo geometry virtually eliminates mechanical inefficiency by keeping swashplate links near vertical throughout their range of motion. The result is a flawless cyclic and collective response that feels almost telekinetic.
  • AS3X® Technology with Piro-Compensation: The Blade® 180 CFX heli utilizes Horizon Hobby’s innovative AS3X® flybarless technology with advanced piro-compensation for unrivaled performance in a helicopter of this size.
  • Castle Creations ESC: The reliability of a Castle Creations Talon 15 speed control assures great performance for even hard-core 3D flying. Plus, pilots will enjoy the convenience of having motor timing and optimal governor settings pre-programmed.
  • Rigid Carbon Fiber Frame: The carbon fiber side frames sandwich aluminum bearing and mounting blocks for a structure that is as durable as it is integral to precision control.
  • Nanolite Receiver: The Spektrum™ AR6335 6-channel receiver features AS3X flybarless technology built-in to deliver high-speed stability and precision that’s compatible with your favorite programmable aircraft transmitter with Spektrum DSMX® technology.
  • Nanolite Rotary Servos: Spektrum rotary servos feature conventional rotary movement and digital precision with a response speed to meet the demanding workload of flybarless mechanics.
  • Brushless Outrunner Motor: The high-torque outrunner motor offers pro-level power and 5800Kv output for aerobatic performance that doesn’t lag behind.
  • 3S Li-Po Power: The included high-output E-flite® 450mAh 3S 11.1V 30C Li-Po battery offers the performance hard-core 3D pilots demand.
  • Torque-Tube Drive Tail: The torque-tube drive tail system features ball-bearing support inside an aluminum boom that connects at the tail rotor to a strong one-piece tail case.

Blade 180 CFX BNF Basic Electric Flybarless Helicopter
Wow can't believe how bad the other reviews are of this Heli. As far as micro Heli's go I thought this is a very good quality Helicopter. I agree you can upgrade these small Heli's to make them better but mine flew great out of the box. Most of the upgrades are personal preference. This Heli flies good out of the box. I updated the firmware in the FBL system. I added a small plug to access the ESC cable to change the settings in the ESC to lower the RPM a bit. I added servo saver upgrade and a slip clutch in the torque tube. This is all that is really a must in my opinion. Makes the Heli able to take a small crash with very little damage. I have tried other micro Heli's and I was always repairing them. With this Heli's I have not had to. There are a lot of things that they got right on this Heli like, separate ESC, good flybarless system, torque tube drive tail, carbon frame, good motor, easy enough to work on, nice size etc. For a small Helicopter I think it is great !!!

Blade 180 CFX BNF Basic Electric Flybarless Helicopter
Very powerful helicopter, solid tail , good material and I can do all of 3D actions with that. I like it.

Blade 180 CFX BNF Basic Electric Flybarless Helicopter
This helicopter was a waste of time and money. Blade cant seem to get there tail "Gyro" issues figured out..
Right out of the box there were problems with twitching and out of control pirouetts. I have four other helicopters that I have set up and work great. I would not waste time or money on this helicopter!

Blade 180 CFX BNF Basic Electric Flybarless Helicopter
I had this Heli half year ago. This is a very good construction but it has 2 weakness.
- the tail servo
- the cyclic servo gears
But this is my favourite heli because i just fly with it and change the wear out parts.
I highly recommend it to everyone! Have a nice fly, have a nice experiences!!!

Blade 180 CFX BNF Basic Electric Flybarless Helicopter
The Blade 180 cfx is a nice cf helicopter but has weak landing skids and gears in the servos. After 3 flights the landing skids broke and after 4 flights the servo gears stripped , and that's while doing light 3d . I have a dozen flights on it and have replaced the landing skids twice and all 3 swashplate servo gears twice . It flies nice and tail holds well but in my opinion can't handle the hardcore 3d without mod. With the price I paid for it I expected better . Would not recommend .

Blade 180 CFX BNF Basic Electric Flybarless Helicopter
Out of the box loaded the setting from the website onto my transmitter and this heli flys great! It will hover just fine and is great for practice in very small areas. That said I wouldn't even fly it with out doing the servo saver mod and TT clutch. My first few wrecks I feel like I barely tapped the blades and stripped a gear on the cyclic servo, no bueno for a practice heli. After the mods though I've buried this thing on several occasion went and picked it up, entered servo centering mode with my transmitter leveled the swash by hand (leave them just loose enough so they can rotate) sometimes they 180 in lol save settings and back up in the air. I had 3 crashes on one 850mah battery and a super windy day (she fly like a pig) 5 min later still going strong. Pirouettes, piro flips, hurricanes, tic tocs indefiently aileron and elevator. I demand a lot from my helis I punish them routinely and I keep going back to this little heli for flying around the house. I've ran 5 batteries back to back and it takes a lot to get this thing hot prob won't even get hot for sports and light 3d least we're I live. I bought two of these seems like a year ago and I couldn't be happier ones bone stocks except the above mentioned upgrades and the other ones has fiberglass angry bird canopy and is pretty much a full stretched lynx bird about to get the msh brain 2 micro, that's the one I'll compare to the oxy 2, hope this helps just couldn't believe all of the bad reviews. Blade actual made a great little heli here is it a 700 no but it sure flys like a 450!
