The Axial SCX10 III "Jeep JT Gladiator" RTR 4WD Rock Crawler marks the next step forward in ready-to-run, scale off-road action. While continuing to incorporate key components that have made SCX10 vehicles successful, the SCX10 III chassis increases realism with details that include a replica V8 engine to house the front-mounted 540 brushed motor, mated to a realistic transmission housing and transfer case like a 1:1 vehicle. The Spektrum DX3 3-channel 2.4GHz DSMR transmitter and Firma 40A ESC/receiver are also ready to give you the advantages of innovative Spektrum Smart technology.

Out of the box, the SCX10 III Jeep JT Gladiator transmission offers a third-channel DIG function that lets you lock the rear axle from the transmitter for front wheel drive and a tighter turning radius. Though locked out from the factory, you can set up the vehicle to have a 40% faster second gear instead of DIG — or, by adding another micro servo and using a radio with at least four channels (such as the 5-channel Spektrum DX5), have simultaneous access to both the DIG and two-speed functions.

The SCX10 III Jeep JT Gladiator uses AR45 portal axles to improve performance by increasing the ground clearance and reducing torque twist. The motor is located at the front of the chassis for forward weight. The standard battery tray is positioned near the vehicle's center for improved balance and accepts full-size LiPo or NiMH packs. There are also locations in the side pods for drivers who prefer smaller "shorty" LiPo packs. Inner fenders and floor sides hide internal components that would usually be visible from the side of the chassis.

Topping off the chassis is a scale Jeep JT Gladiator body that mirrors its full-size counterpart with many highly authentic details. The body has over 20 injection-molded parts including a bed rack, door handles, mirrors, hood vents and more — taking polycarbonate body realism to the next level. The body has been split into three pieces for a more realistic deep bed. Officially licensed Nitto Trail Grappler tires on 3-piece beadlock wheels add more scale realism and more grip on dirt, rocks, and all other off-road trails.

With the Spektrum DX3 radio, you'll enjoy the superior range, response, and interference resistance of DSMR technology. Together with the installed Firma Smart 40A ESC/receiver, it also offers the advantages of exclusive Spektrum Smart technology. Install a Spektrum Smart LiPo battery and you can view vehicle battery capacity at a glance on the DX3 transmitter voltage level indicator. Outfit the DX3 with the optional BT2000 Bluetooth module and download the free Spektrum Dashboard app to your smart device, and you're also ready to use Smart real-time telemetry — without needing on-board sensors or modules.

Features:
  • Replica V8 engine cover, transmission housing and transfer case cover and protect the motor while improving scale appearance and adding forward-mounted weight.
  • DIG function transmission option lets you lock the rear axle from the transmitter for front wheel drive and a tighter turning radius.
  • Two-speed transmission option (some assembly required) allows you to increase vehicle speed by approximately 40%.
  • Drivers can choose between the DIG and 2-speed transmission options, or run both with a 4-channel transmitter and two servos (not included).
  • AR45 Portal Axles feature an offset front housing for realistic looks.
  • Axle housings also use portal gears for increased ground clearance and a universal that provides 45 degrees of steering.
  • Differential locker features Hypoid gears, allowing for smaller size gears, improved gear reduction and reduced torque twist.
  • Authentic Jeep® JT Gladiator body includes over 20 injection-molded parts including bed rack, door handles, mirrors, hood vents and more.
  • Three-piece body provides a more realistic deep bed.
  • New centered battery position improves chassis balance with front-mounted motor.
  • Chassis side pods offer mounting locations for smaller LiPo batteries, if desired.
  • Hard anodized oil-filled shocks feature shock cap with bleed screw for easier rebuilds.
  • All drive train components in the transmission, portals and axle gears are metal for extreme durability — with pinion gear included, the vehicle has 23 metal gears in total.
  • Improved materials increase durability and stiffness while holding tighter tolerances to eliminate most "slop".
  • Metal stainless steel pivot balls at all suspension points increase durability and wear life for consistent handling.
  • Improved suspension geometry further reduces torque twist while allowing chassis fine-tuning.
  • Extended 13.9 inch wheelbase with longer frame rails and chassis supports a more realistic version of the Jeep® JT Gladiator body.
  • Detailed interior with molded driver adds to the vehicle's realistic scale looks.
  • New rear body mounts simplify body removal.
  • Injection-molded inner fenders hide internal components usually visible from the side of the chassis.
  • Spektrum™ DX3™ DSMR® radio is fully compatible with the Smart telemetry potential of the installed Firma™ Smart 40A ESC/receiver.
  • Included Spektrum™ 15kg metal gear servo and all electronics are protected by a waterproof design for confident driving in any weather and trail conditions.

Axial SCX10 III "Jeep JT Gladiator" RTR 4WD Rock Crawler (Red)
I think Axial has a winner in this SCX10 III Gladiator. I was skeptical about the electronics especially the speed control and receiver in one unit but I’m pretty impressed with the smoothness at low speed . I wish that the receiver was 4 channel instead of 3. I built the kit SCX 10 III several months ago and put a lot of money into the electronics but I’m impressed that the Gladiator Truck keeps up with my kit SCX10 III. I also like the longer wheelbase of the truck it ascends and descends steep angles a bit better than other crawlers I have. To me it seems that my gladiator runs quieter than the SCX 10 III kit I built. Axial must have fixed the chattering in the transmission. This is my favorite crawler right now but it my newest one also so that may change in the future. If your looking for a RTR that looks great with lots of detail and will keep up with the other boys then don’t hesitate on getting your hands on this one. I must also thank Amain Hobbies for getting me this truck in three days Great Service.

Axial SCX10 III "Jeep JT Gladiator" RTR 4WD Rock Crawler (Red)
It crawls awesome and is very nice right out of the box, but for the price it would be nice if the 2nd gear would work with servo installed, the TRX4 bronco that I have is cheaper with a working two speed trans and front and rear diff locks, plus on this axial you have a 3 channel transmitter with a 4 channel receiver, that makes no sense because to make second gear work you have to replace your remote because it’s only a 3 channel

Axial SCX10 III "Jeep JT Gladiator" RTR 4WD Rock Crawler (Red)
This truck is excellent. Great build quality and tons of upgrade options available. A few cheap/easy to install weight upgrades to drop the center of gravity a bit and move it closer to the front axle set this kit at the head of the pack. Easily competes with the TRX4 in climbing, flex, and control. The IC3 battery connecter is smooth and feels secure. Solid Spectrum radio with all the expected bells and whistles. The on-board battery pack indicator on the remote is a particularly great feature and took all of the guesswork out of picking the best time to switch to a fresh pack. You can't go wrong with the SCX10 III.

Axial SCX10 III "Jeep JT Gladiator" RTR 4WD Rock Crawler (Red)
Love this rig. Definitely one of my favorites from axial. Stock tires are typical stock tires so can’t really expect to much out of them. The mini servo, well is $15 new so that should tell you everything you need to know. Got a reefs 99 I believe it was $60. But love the looks of this well proportioned

Axial SCX10 III "Jeep JT Gladiator" RTR 4WD Rock Crawler (Red)
My fun new project and a great addition to the garage. Having owned my fair share of SCX10ii's and the SCX10 III Wrangler, I had to give a shot for the longer wheel base option. It's a fun change of pace from the typical 12.3" wheel base. The layout is maintenance friendly, the stock electronics are great to get you out and nothing you will NEED to replace right out of the box to have a truly enjoyable rig. The stock Radio is still one of my favorites and has a nice quality feel to it. Hands down the best RTR Radio/ESC/Receiver combo out there. The stock Servo actually can turn the wheels in some off-camber situations and only stalls when pushed right against a "rock and a hard place." Stock beadlocks are a nice addition, and the stock Nitto Tires are Great! I even used a set on my VS4-10 Pro. You will not regret the purchase, a great truck!

Axial SCX10 III "Jeep JT Gladiator" RTR 4WD Rock Crawler (Red)
Scale details are nice, but for 500 i expected it to be built better. Driveline has a non stop click, loose parts, cheap electronics.

Very capable crawler right out of the box....will be great for most people. Axial makes the best rc cars available. There may be others with better features components, but overall Axial is the best....especially in quality...!

Axial SCX10 III "Jeep JT Gladiator" RTR 4WD Rock Crawler (Red)
Could've been 5 star but because of the very weak and cheaply made dig servo which burned IMMEDIATELY 1min into trying it out (I did set the end point) im taking away 1 star. For 500+ bucks they should have put a much better servo. Where is the quality control? Upon emailing Amain about the problem they quickly respond. But cmon Axial...this is i believe the 3rd generation and you did not come up with a better dig servo? On the other hand its still a great truck. The scale is next to nothing IMO. The radio is excellent for an RTR. Lots of aftermarket accessories. You can dress up this truck with endless possibilities.
