Vintage Ford Bronco Styling - SCX10 III Rock Crawler Performance!

The Axial SCX10 III "Early Ford Bronco" RTR 1/10 4WD Rock Crawler has been designed to push the boundaries of Ready-to-Run crawlers. Built off the SCX10 III platform with key updates that to add details and performance. This truck is perfect for the first time crawler and experienced rock crawling enthusiasts.

The polycarbonate Ford Bronco body features a molded tube cage and functional doors with hidden body mounts to preserve the scale details. Period correct fender flares and rock sliders help protect the body from scratches while on the trail. Other details include a hood scoop, license plate, windshield wipers, LED headlights and LED taillights. The scale details continue into the body and include molded seats, dashboard, shifter, foot pedals and a steering column. A replica 5.0L V8 engine, molded transmission housing and transfer case are used to cover the Axial 35T motor. Axial did not stop there and equipped this truck with retro-styled 3-piece beadlock wheels. Licensed 1.9 Falken Wildpeak M/T tires are mounted to the beadlocks to finish the great looks.

The transmission is set up with a third-channel dig function that lets you lock the rear axle from the transmitter for a tighter turning radius. This can also be configured for a two speed with high and low gears by moving the included Micro Dig Servo to the two-speed position. To use both the two-speed transmission and Front Dig features, just add another servo and a radio with at least four channels (Sold Separately).

Axial SCX10 III "Early Ford Bronco" RTR 1/10 4WD Rock Crawler (White)
Very scale! Beautiful Early Bronco, we all wish we could own a 1:1 rig...
Now to its performance. The beautiful body is rather heavy which makes it more top heavy than a basic lexan body.
I run it on my own trail on my property, rocky and side hill... I initially had a couple tips on its side. After I got some time on it I got used to its characteristics. It will lift a front wheel semi easily, but it climbs quite well actually. Good enough traction, low gearing and the steering servo worked decent.
It is a wide body compared to the popular crawler bodies though - it won't squeeze through everything.
As I will remind myself it is a 'trail truck' not a rock crawler and it does excellent driven like that. And it is super realistic looking. Kudos Axial.

Oh I must say I put on 90mm shocks from the get go (pulling the 100mm stockers) - never ran with the 100mm shocks.
I think lowering the ride height 10mm is helpful for a lower COG, making it more stable. IMO ...I have aluminum wheels & soft 4.75" tires coming for it - should be beefy!

It gets a thumbs up from me, good scale truck. I am not going to beat on it and keep it as close to perfect as I can - It is sweet.
Only 4 stars due to being slightly top heavy, slippery tires and too tall a ride height stock.

Axial SCX10 III "Early Ford Bronco" RTR 1/10 4WD Rock Crawler (White)
The chassis is great. Just what you would expect from Axial. The body is amazing with lot of great detail. The one problem is that the body is not 1/10 scale. It's huge and top heavy. It has a great interior to put a driver, but no action figures fit correctly. They are either too big or too small. The body is a very odd scale. I feel Axial should have shortened the wheelbase and use a real 1/10 scale body. The body would be a lot smaller and not so top heavy which would help performance. This truck flips over a lot!

Amazing and capable RC crawler. The body is super scale. The one downside is the servo, it’s very cheap and it broke on me.

Other than the tall ride height it’s a nice truck.
