Avid RC 2.0mm D8T Carbon Arm Insert Set

This is an optional Avid RC 2.0mm Carbon Arm Insert Set, intended for use with the Hot Bodies D8T 1/8 Scale Truggy. These Hot Bodies D8T Carbon Arm Inserts were developed and used by Ty Tessmann to win the 2014 Dirt Nitro Challenge which offer the D8T truggy another great tuning feature by reducing arm flex and twist, making the truck more responsive. A common setting is to run the inserts just in the front, or just the rear, to dial in the feel of your truck.

The carbon inserts start as a 3.9mm thick piece which are milled down to 2mm thick, while leaving 6 islands still at 3.9mm. To finish the inserts, the islands are pocketed in the middle to 2mm to remove unnecessary weight.

These inserts are installed on the bottom of the arm and the islands key around the molded ribs in the arm. Installing these pieces will take some time, but the rewards are worth it.

Tips/Installation Notes: 

• It is recommended to have a M3 tap for the arms to provide a clean thread.
• Take your time and be patient.
