PROTOTYPE INFORMATION:
In 1995 UPS made the first commercial purchase of 28' containers. This was in an effort to diversify their equipment fleet. The initiative positioned UPS as the first small-package carrier to move into domestic containerization. In order to economically carry the 28' Container, the 56' Well Car was designed and constructed.
