The Arrma Kraton 8S BLX Brushless RTR 1/5 4WD Monster Truck takes bashing to the next level. Its metal-reinforced design lets you blast up, over, and through bruising obstacles without worry. Metal shafts, turnbuckles and outdrives, plus all-metal internal gears, give the drivetrain and suspension system unstoppable strength. The anodized aluminum chassis plate features composite side pods and a triangular center brace for maximum durability. Ultra-thick composite front and rear shock towers hold massive 20mm bore, oil-filled adjustable shocks that soak-up bumps and jolts.

The power that sends the Kraton 8S BLX charging over challenging terrain comes from its 1250Kv Spektrum Firma brushless motor. The torque and acceleration is incredible. For quick access, the motor is mounted with three bolts onto a sliding aluminum mount.

The waterproof electronics module — also designed for easy access — houses and protects more innovative Spektrum equipment. ARRMA has equipped the Kraton 8S with a state-of-the-art Firma Smart 160A ESC and SR6100AT AVC (Active Vehicle Control) receiver. Innovative connectivity enables all the Smart electronics to send valuable telemetry data to the included Spektrum DX3 3-channel transmitter without requiring multiple wires, sensors, modules and links. Just download the free Spektrum Dashboard App to your mobile device, which connects wirelessly via Bluetooth to the DX3 transmitter. Then you can view motor RPM, ESC temperature, receiver voltage, drive pack voltage and more data in real-time.

The ultra-tough Kraton 8S truck body with high-downforce wing is available factory trimmed, painted and decaled in two striking color schemes. A center protection tower on the chassis interfaces with the roll cage for increased body durability. It all rides on multi-split spoke wheels with strong, durable aluminum wheel hubs, and multi-terrain dBoots COPPERHEAD 2 SB tires with a tread pattern designed for extreme, all-terrain action.

Arrma Kraton 8S BLX Brushless RTR 1/5 4WD Monster Truck (Orange)
It's a decent truck. $750 would have been a better price though. To see the 55mph you'll need a 25t pinion and some cold weather. The tires seem to tear easier than others. They used way too much loctite on all metal parts so be prepared for that. The motor mount screws are pretty weak and held in by red permanent loctite so you'll need to heat them up. If I didnt already own an x-maxx I would have went that route instead. This truck should have a huge aftermarket because of its flaws though. that's one positive. Been in the hobby 15 years and I own many rc's.

Arrma Kraton 8S BLX Brushless RTR 1/5 4WD Monster Truck (Orange)
I bought this truck after having an xmaxx for a little time and they are night and day different. The xmaxx is a true basher. But it lacks the handling and finesse of the kraton 8s. On a bash fest the xmaxx wins, hands down..but race? Even a bashers race, the kraton will smack the xmaxx around.

My esc and motor fan had issues on arrival. Horizon hobby took care of that within 2 days they sent me replacement parts. Horizon hobby has the best customer service.

Arrma Kraton 8S BLX Brushless RTR 1/5 4WD Monster Truck (Orange)
This is my first Arrma product. The Kraton 8S handles like a smaller truck once adjusted. The K8 seems to do very well with whatever is thrown at it while driving. Stable, smooth and takes jumps well. However the power and acceleration were a bit underwhelming at first. Put in 80c batteries first, that helped. Then reprogrammed the ESC. Set the "punch" from 3 to 5 and advanced the motor timing 15 degrees. This is all in the manual for those who want to know how to do it. Wow! Impressive improvements and really woke the truck up! It now really works and am very happy with all aspects of this truck. This is an awesome RTR truck and would recommend to anyone looking to get into the larger scale RC's.

Arrma Kraton 8S BLX Brushless RTR 1/5 4WD Monster Truck (Orange)
First off i'm in Australia so buying from Amain is not an option due to shipping/import costs. Sorry Amain lol
Secondly, why people want to compare this with the Xmaxx is beyond me. They are completely different vehicles, and design
Thirdly it's not 1/5 scale it's 1/6 possibly 1/7 scale. Don't fall for marketing hype people
Now to the nitty gritty. As a whole it's an ok truck/truggy. It has it's flaws with the main one being the motor. Too small, too many kv for 8S. I never ran the stock motor/esc, and i was never going to for that reason. I had an m2c mount, Hobbystar 56112 980kv, 34T pinion, and a Max5 ready and waiting. Cool temps in hot Australian summer (no fan needed) 58mph top speed, and a truck loads of power
Now it has the power and speed i like, especially playing exclusively with Losi 1/5 scale for the last few years. The stock servo is also junk, it can barely turn the wheels, so straight away i bought the optional 1/5 servo mount and the Hobbystar "brute torque" 70kg servo. Now the steering is nice and quick, and the wheels turn no problem when i push down on the front
So far no breakages, but i drive it like a large scale RC, so no stupid 30ft jumps which large scale simply aren't built for
I would recommend it to someone wanting a large scale to bash around the park, average jumps etc etc. I will be selling mine soon though, i've had my fun but it's a "toy" compared to true 1/5 scale :)

Arrma Kraton 8S BLX Brushless RTR 1/5 4WD Monster Truck (Orange)
this is my third arrma vehicle and the best. i have own a lot of rc cars and trucks from traxxas and etc. this is the best rc i have ever own. the pictures and videos dont do it justice, it is a pure stunner. My friends have X-maxx and losi's super baja's. my kraton make there's look like it came from toys-r-us. It look like it's 20 years in the future ahead of there's. there trucks flip over alot, while my kraton holds the road like a Ferrari.i dont see how people bash this ride, its to big , heavy , and pretty! thats what the 6s is for, which i also own. i dont care about aftermarket parts, that's what the 6s for! this is a classic and deserve to be left original! the only bad thing i can say about it , is...it will make your friends jealous!

Arrma Kraton 8S BLX Brushless RTR 1/5 4WD Monster Truck (Orange)
It is so beautiful and big. I'm grateful to have received the updated version with the rear metal support upon the rear of the 4mm chassis. It looks even better with the Pro-line trenchers I shaved away at the center in order to make them fit. I am concerned about what I'm learning about LiPo batteries that have a higher tendency to explode than lithium Ion batteries (based on the precaution videos I've seen. The Arrma Kraton 8s is such eye candy, will I ever be moved to make it bash after jumping 40 feet in the air? Maybe.

Arrma Kraton 8S BLX Brushless RTR 1/5 4WD Monster Truck (Orange)
It's one the best RC cars/trucks, I've ever bought. It's a basher, just wish it would wheelie from the start like the notorious, or typhoon.

Arrma Kraton 8S BLX Brushless RTR 1/5 4WD Monster Truck (Orange)
So far so good. I bought this after owning a big rock 3s for a couple months. I've had it about a month now and I like it alot, it's just really heavy so make sure your close to home before the battery's die. The only thing I don't like that much is the front bumper is under the body so if you hit anything you'll mess up the body so I made a bumper to protect the body from getting damaged and it doesn't do wheelies like the big rock but in a race it is faster than the big rock for its size. The battery trays are a bad design because the recommended smart batteries don't fit right and it mashes the wires so I modified it by adding foam and putting the batteries in sideways, also one battery has to face back and the other face front to plug in properly. Someone told me to get the xmax but I got the kraten anyway. Minus the no wheelies it's great at not tipping over and high speed turns but you need enough room to turn because it turns wide. I even took it off a ramp and it held up great but just be careful because the front end is heavier than the back. Also the metal gears make a weird sound like it's missing a gear tooth when turning slowly but no problems yet. Great vehicle overall I love it but if you want wheelies than you'll have to upgrade it or just get the xmax. If I have any problems I'll add it to my review later.

Arrma Kraton 8S BLX Brushless RTR 1/5 4WD Monster Truck (Orange)
Awesome truck, the only issues are the one everyone already knows: the lower A-arms front and rear. Super brittle and Arrma needs to fix that issue. Other than that for a normal basher, this is a great truck.

Arrma Kraton 8S BLX Brushless RTR 1/5 4WD Monster Truck (Orange)
this was the worst car i have ever owned i got this and some idiot said it was tough as nails well we know that's a load of garbage because i jumped it on the worlds smallest jump and it bent the cassis and that was the first jump it ever did so arrmas stupid saying of don't just bash blast is a load of bs because i farted on this and it would have bent the chassis so if you want a better car go with the traxxas xmaxx best rc out there just dont buy there batterys they are garbage.

Arrma Kraton 8S BLX Brushless RTR 1/5 4WD Monster Truck (Orange)
Aarma Kraton 8s . Not worth the $900 plus batteries I bought one of these spent about $1500 between the reedy charger dual ! 4s lipos . I still think the Traxxas X max is a better truck by far the X max is taller not as wide but you can get a whitening kit and it’s 6 pounds lighter this Aarma . I personally think it’s another one of her at Horizon Hobby more China junk ! Traxxas X max is the winner always will be don’t worry they’re in the works of releasing a different newer model you guys will see . Enjoy the hobby !
