"Designed Fast, Designed Tough" may be an understatement when describing the KRATON Extreme Bash Roller Speed Monster Truck. Made of strong anodized 7075 T6 aluminum, the laser-etched chassis plate gains further rigidity from the use of front and rear aluminum chassis braces. Arrma Kraton 1/8 EXB EXtreme Bash Roller 4WD Monster Truck (Black)
So picked up this beast of a basher today, had it built at hobby town so all I had to do was pick up and go. Needless to say I’m extremely impressed, I’ve watched the preview videos of guys beating on these trucks but I needed to know first hand could it really take the punishment, so I set off immediately to the track and let her rip. I flat landed it on the roof like a pancake from 10 feet in the air no damage, I cart wheeled it hard a few times no damage took about 8 hard front nose dives on big jumps and finally after about 20 mins of pure abuse popped a dog bone out of the cup on the front left, no damage just a violent enough hit to pop it out. All and all 5 mins to fix and she’s back to full speed. I ran this thing hard, and it took ever bit of it and then some, usually I wouldn’t try to break a car I just spent 1200 to build, but it was like aroma was challenging me that I couldn’t break it, and the only other damage to note on the car other then the dog bone popping out was two nice indents in the body from the repeated noses into the ground. Great job armma you built a hell of a truck on this one.
Also thanks to the guys down at Hobbytown Santee,Ca for helping me pick out the right electronics to put in they held up well under all the abuse and a special thanks to Bradon ( hope I spelt that right) who built the truck for me while I was at work. Was a great job and truly do appreciate it.
Update: so I’ve found one problem with this truck, blew out the rear differential on it’s 3rd run, seems this is a common problem arising with this truck. Should have 3 shims in the differential not 2 and it’s causing a problem with the mesh. Other then that chassis is still straight as a board, everything else is still in great shape. Seems this was just a small over look in production.

Stay far away - at least for now! There is a known defect in this truck and it’s all over the internet. The rear differential is build incorrect from the factory and there are no spares right now. Just bought this and ran it for 10 minutes. Called Horizon and they said “sorry about that, I know there are no parts available so we can give you a $20 inconvenience fee”. And sit on an expensive paper weight for months?

The new differentials hold up really well. And they put more oil in the diffs to start with too. The exb is a beast! I am a fan!

Best basher truggy in its class. Lighter, tougher, and more agile than the competition. Mine came assembled almost perfectly, besides a stripped droop set screw hole on the lower arms that Amain took care of. No diff problems or any broken parts and I have around 30 6s packs through it of hard driving with a lot of 10-20ft jumps. Stock tires work well and wear long, 4s backflips also work well. It's jumps neutral and flies further than the other guys because it's lighter. I bash/race on a dirt track with a lot of traxxas sledge guys and they have to make repairs frequently while I just keep going and going.

I've had my Kraton EXB for about 5 months now and it's so much fun when it's running, but sadly it sits broken waiting on parts more than it should imo. If you're going to buy this truck plan on having a full stock of replacement parts to go with it. The stock hardware in general is terrible. Low quality screws being the main complaint here. In addition, keep sets of arms, hinge pins, turnbuckles, gearboxes, ball cups, shock standoffs, wing mounts, and lots and lots of screws on-hand. I'm no extreme basher and don't claim to be an expert driver, but the majority of these parts have failed doing what anyone else would do if they owned this truck. I also invested in a scorched parts rear skid plate since the frame was starting to bend in that area. I'd call that a must own addition (not going to call it an upgrade) to this truck. The body is not well protected from turnovers, so either protect that or plan to replace often. All-in-all, super fun truck, but poor build quality.

Pretty disappointed with this one. Stripped screws out of the box. Got everything assembled and electronics installed and within minutes of running the rear driver shock shaft pulled free of the body. I rebuilt it, put new oil, reassembled. Set droop screw to allow a good bit less droop. Didn’t make it across the yard. Broke again.
For what is supposed to be Arrmas premiere tough basher roller, I’m just a bit surprised. I filed warranty claim but also just went ahead and ordered new hardware. This was going to be used at a Christmas party Saturday. Kiddos were pumped.
I’m now, of course, going to have to remove all of the other shocks now and open them up etc or I’ll always be wondering and waiting for them to break as well.
Wish I’d spent this money on something else! I’ll update if things change.

After inspection out of the box, everything that was susposed to have locktite did, and the diff was shimmed correct. After installing my electronics this truck drives and handles very well and jumps like a race truck. After some very hardcore tumbles and a couple lawn darts , nothing has broken or bent..?I would definitely recommend this truck,

Arrma Kraton 1/8 EXB EXtreme Bash Roller 4WD Monster Truck (Black)
I finally built this racing truggy after it's sat in its box for quite a while. I did a lot of research to decide that for my use its the Caste Motor 2028 1100kv coupled with the Mamba XLX2, Zeee LiPos 10000mah 120C and its mostly for fun light bashing but I love a good handling vehicle not matter what it is and this Kraton EXB has a setup that impresses me!
I've been driving it for about 2 weeks now and decided to put this out there for anyone considering a purchase. Couple it with a Radiolink RC6GS and your good to go!! Love this 1/5 scale!! Parts quality and overall build and presence is just top shelf.

Great roller diffs we’re fixed one of the reasons why I didn’t by it till I found out they fixed the problem after. Have the v5 kraton 6s so I had to add this to the fleet I have. Arenas quality control is awful though it came with no protective wrap on shell and was all scratched!! So arrma do a better job!! Amain took care of the problem so I was happy and it’s the reason for the 5 star review.

Dead sailer list:
Steering link screw fell out, bent one rear driveshaft, bent several screws, and broke a shock standoff.
Considering how many big air flat landings this truck has absorbed I don't hold the Dead Sailer list against it. It's handling is as good as my Tekno truggy, and it's considerably more stable on ruff terrain. It's good with the back flips too. I've had no problems with running the drivetrain on 6s, everything seems to handle the power just fine.
The truck's not perfect and does suffer from some RTR syndrome. On the whole it's a very well made truck and performs extraordinarily well. I'm very happy with the truck and recommend it.

I came over to Arrma after purchasing a few traxxas products, and must say the build, durability and adjustability in my experience is much better at least for me.
The down sides as stated from others is that my first Kraton the 6s V5 came with stripped screws here and there. The worst was the set screw in the drive cup attached to the rear diff pinion. Didn't think it was right to come out of pocket for a brand new model out of the box and I had to replace the drive cup, pinion, diff housing, and bearings. Not happy about that.
For both the Kraton EXB, and the V5 I had the WTF moment wondering why my shock assemblies needed disassembly with pliers destroying the lower caps retaining the orings only to find out loctite was used. In all my experience over the years I've never used or seen anyone else use loctite in that location. So again I came out of pocket to replace those.
To me Arrma has the better engineering and part quality over traxxas, but even though traxxas has their own quality control issues it is far superior than Arrma.

The truck is amazing. Love the handling characteristics, tha layout, the aluminum parts... For me it is best in class, when compared to the E revo or the Sledge. I just wont give it 5 stars because of the material quality in some areas. But overall it is a great package.

I was lucky enough to catch this on the Black Friday sale this year! This is one of the best builds I have seen by ARRMA and at the price I got it, it is unbelievable. Has to be one of the worst Arrma's I have purchased. We purchased two of them and within 4 battery packs have done so much damage to give this so called EXB a good review. In four batteries I have bent the chassis, blew out 4 of the hub bearings and broke the bolt off in the rear chassis brace. My sons blew three of the same hub bearings and his chassis is also bent and one bent front dog bone. Granted it was hitting jumps but my older Talion was a much better built car when you installed a few M2C parts vs buying the EXB model. I have several other Arrmas and never had the amount of issues with any of them right out of the box. There is no EXtreme in this Arrma!
