This is a pair of two AKA Rebar Short Course Tires, with included AKA Red inserts. Mark Pavidis and Jared Tebo have collaborated to come up with the latest 1/10 Short Course tire called the REBAR. The REBAR is designed for indoor tracks and hard packed, blue grooved outdoor tracks. The REBAR features double side rails on the edges of the tire provide extra sidewall support. This extra support is key to making the tire feel consistent in the turns which enables you to have the confidence push even harder. The wide staggered center lugs give the REBAR great forward traction to hook up the power and launch your vehicle off the corner and over the jumps.

The latest addition to AKA's proprietary compounds is the indoor or "clay" compound. After 2 years of research and development, the compound has been finely tuned to create maximum traction and performance on clay tracks.

Features:

  • Red Insert (Soft): The red insert is designed to soak up the big bumps with its fluted I.D. while still holding its shape in the turns to increase corner speed and consistency.
  • Tread Performance: Each tire tread is computer designed and track tested by AKA engineers Gil Losi, Mark Pavidis and team drivers to ensure the best performance before each tire goes into production.
  • Lifespan: The long life of the AKA tires is due to the collective decades of rubber compound development Gil Losi brings to the table. In fact, Mark and Gil have been responsible for developing some of the most successful tires in off-road racing for a generation. Each compound is tested in labs then rigorously track tested to ensure the highest quality.
  • Balance: Like AKA inserts and wheels, tire balance is critical to superior performance and it''s a priority in AKA tires. Mold components are manufactured to the highest tolerances to ensure the best possible alignment of all the mold components. This results in a tire with more uniform thickness for the best possible balance.
  • Mold Accuracy: AKA tire molds are made in the U.S.A. using the most advance mold-making techniques and processes available. The cost is higher to produce such a precision mold, but its part of an uncompromising desire to deliver the highest quality product available.

AKA Rebar Short Course Tires (2) (Clay)
This tire is a good intermediate between a wet track and before the track gets grooved, less side bite on wet clay than a set of bar codes so on a technical clay track they allow me to slide around hairpins easier without traction rolling, brutal forward bite on this tire when track is just a bit moist but not yet grooved.

AKA Rebar Short Course Tires (2) (Super Soft)
Ran these at Competition Hobbies SIGP on the SC10 13.5 Class. Super soft fronts and soft rears. Track was very hard pack, slightly dusty, blue groove, no water. Tires stayed consistent all weekend. To my surprise they were more hooked up than a bar code style tire (IMO). The event lasted 3 days Practice, Quals, Race; 4 - 5 min quals, 5 min lower mains, 10 min A-main, and 20 minutes of total practice time. By the end of the weekend, the bars have definitely worn down on the rears. Great performing tire, predictable slide, and tons of forward bite. Wears really quickly though. Not OVER-engineered, just a good darn tire. Buy with confidence.

AKA Rebar Short Course Tires (2) (Soft)
Racing at Outback Raceway (A Main Hobbies). SC10 4x4 and a Slash 4x4. Indoor course, hardpacked clay. I ran these tires last week and I was amazed at the performance. Excellence side grip and forward traction. Had to change my line in the sweeper due to traction rolls with the tires gripping so nicely.

AKA Rebar Short Course Tires (2) (Soft)
I am running these on a hard pack indoor clay track (medium traction fast to dust and degrades fast as it dries.) These tires on all 4 corners of my sc10 2wd the forward bite and side bite both very good. I was running v2 suburbs and prefer these now. Buy with confidence
