E-flite P-51D Mustang 280 Bind-N-Fly Basic Electric Airplane
I've got over a hundred flights on this P-51... everything still works perfectly.... only broke the APC 6/4 prop once.... had to replace the prop shaft adapter once ($4).... bend it straight a few times (landing it on grass, sometimes the prop catches.... what a phenomenal performer... the most aerodymanic design of all the warbirds... its fast and maneuvers like a dream... as acrobatic as a stunt plane if you want to fly like that... easy to hand launch and can be landed relatively slowly because it's so light.... the wings can handle the G's of any loop or roll... unbelievable... the engine and my 3 batteries are still performing at 100%....

E-flite P-51D Mustang 280 Bind-N-Fly Basic Electric Airplane
I am REALLY enjoying this plane. This is my 4th plane and easily the most enjoyable to fly at the baseball park. I started with the SuperCub which is slow enough to fly at the park but a little big. I then got the T-28 Trojan based on recommendations from the staff at the store. That plane is too big, too heavy and TOO Fast for the park so I have to fly it at a remote location with open fields. It has been a handful. I next picked up the UMX P-51 and had great fun with it at the park. Improved my acrobatic skills greatly but I find it too slow and not enough power to keep me engaged for too long. I took a chance on the 280 Mustang with not much knowledge of it other than I liked the wingspan size and battery specs and it went on sale. It is the perfect size for the park with enough power and speed to keep my attention. My maiden flight was a disaster because I didn't do diligence on examining the control surfaces and attempted to fly it in too much wind. Launched it and it immediately went into uncontrollable loop de loops and pancaked downwind. Broke the fuselage clean in half with no other damage remarkably. A little CA to bind the fuselage together and a thorough check of the elevator trimming and the next flight was great ..... until I bulkheaded the throttle and then heard a big difference in the motor sound. Flew it a bit more and noticed the motor sound changing radically when the throttle was increased. It was the end of the battery time and I brought the plane in for a smooth, flared belly landing on the outfield grass and when I went over to pick the plane up, the motor mount nacelle fell off the fuselage. This explained the change in motor sounds when I throttled up in flight. Amazed that the plane didn't fall out of the sky. No other damage other than the nacelle had broken away from the fuselage. A little CA glue and a recheck of surfaces and the plane has been flawless so far. I have flown about 6 more batteries through it and am amazed at the controllability and power for this intermediate skill pilot. I have been able to do really nice rolls and inverted and the speed is just unreal. I rarely max the throttle, mostly fly between half and 3/4 throttle and the plane is very nice to fly at low speeds. I have doubted my skill level with 4 channel planes so far, especially with my experience with the T-28 Trojan which is supposed to be a 4 channel trainer for intermediate pilots. This 280 size P-51D Mustang has really given me the confidence the other planes have taken away. This is the perfect plane for me since it is small enough to fly at the neighborhood baseball fields and has the performance to keep me entertained for quite some time. I have only flown on low rates so far but I can see in the future that my skill level and confidence will let me fly high rates soon. I can see that I will need to buy more batteries so that I can fly more times a day and not have to wait for battery recharging. For an intermediate pilot looking for a realistic war fighter in a park size model, which has enough power and performance to keep you entertained for quite a while, I can heartily recommend this bird. Looks great in the air and is very strong and can take quite a bit of abuse and not get banged up.

E-flite P-51D Mustang 280 Bind-N-Fly Basic Electric Airplane
Excellent plane, very maneuverable, the engine is powerful, allowing you to achieve good speed to perform stunts despite the presence of wind.
Appearance is very good and realistic.
