This is the Yokomo YZ-2 1/10 2WD Mid Motor Competition Electric Buggy Kit. The YZ-2 was developed to deliver incredible performance on high-speed, high-grip race tracks. The most unique feature is the super-low center-of-gravity motor mount and gearbox. This gives the YZ-2 a weight balance that is unlike anything you have seen in any offroad racing car. The result is a dramatic reduction of traction rolls on high-grip surfaces, and improved overall stability of the car.
An innovative steering assembly has been developed where the wiper swing action is directed toward the rear of the car providing more direct steering response compared to conventional designs. The hard-coated, low-friction anodized aluminum shock bodies offer smoother shock movement for better bump handling characteristics. Also, quick alignment adjustments can be made by replacing the bushings of the front hub carrier and rear suspension mounts, so the user can adapt the chassis to various track conditions quickly, without the need for option parts.
Everything about the Yokomo YZ-2 has been designed to provide an advantage for racers in today’s offroad racing scene.

I also, picked up a YZ-2 recently to compare to my B5M and WOW! The kit itself is the nicest I've seen, the plastics are way nicer than my B5M, even nicer than my XRAY XB4 plastics and I thought I'd never say that. Screws start easy and stop when it is time to stop, not like the Associated plastics at all. It took a few different sets of tires to find the ones that work best, but now it's just point and shoot. The steering is amazing, and the thing is QUIET on the track which I like. I have broken 3 ball cups in pretty short order so not sure what that's all about. Otherwise, this car is an amazing drive and looks like jewelry. If a B5M is a Corvette, the YZ-2 is a Ferrari.

Fantastic kit, the fit in and finish of the plastic is the best I've seen in an off road car. The tolerances and quality of all the machined parts are amazing. This kit goes together without a bit of fuss, and the way they package the kit makes taking it a step (or bag) at a time very easy. I assembled this kit over the course of two weeks, just doing a bag here or there as timed allowed, and it was easy to pick up and put down.
I wish every kit was this amazing, it was like building an on road car.

Best kit I've put together since my on road days. Easy to drive out of the box. Originally advertised as a high bite car yet I've found that it does work on low bite dirt/clay tracks once you switch to the optional ball diff. Steering is awesome and the buggy carries great corner speed. Car needs a little more forward bite which I hope to find in the next practice day or two.

By far the best buggy I have built. The fit and quality of the parts are second to none. The build was easy. The manual could have a little more detail when I comes to the build but it is usable. Bags were clearly labeled and every part was accounted for. Performance of this buggy is amazing on the turf. Adding the machines pistons and new springs makes this buggy a beast. The new carpet 3 gear version can only get better.

Picked up a used YZ-2 to see if I liked it more than my B5M in mod class...blown away by the car....snagged a fresh one from Amain when they were on sale. Hands down one of the easiest, smoothest builds I've done lately and I've built several B5M's and a KF2 this season. Can't wait to see how a fresh kit is on the track...I run very high bite carpet and turf tracks in Oregon...this car just loves the high bite

My first yokomo and the quality is top notch. I'm going to have to try other yokomos now. This car drives like it's on rails.Man this is a nice kit!Definitely a couple of notches above the losi and associated with all the included upgraded aluminum and graphite. The transmission lays almost flat.The only things that are missing is aluminum shock caps and a ball diff but the gear diff hooks up fast. I ordered the aluminum shock caps. Definitely top of the line. I'm very happy with this kit. I just paid 350 for mine and it sucks that they were going for 299 on black Friday plus 10% coupon off. Oh well still worth it.

Oh my goodness! It's as if Masami handcrafted this car himself. It's amazing at our new astro track I'm faster than a few that normaly are much quicker than me. It feels smooth and locked in every where on the track I've made just a few adjustments from the stock set up and the car is dialed. I hope you can tell I'm very pleased. If you are looking for a 1/10th scale buggy for astro this is the one. Give it up for Yokomo.

Brilliant piece of kit! I had been sure that I wanted this car before I had a chance to drive one, but after I beat my fastest B5M modified lap time with a borrowed 13.5 turn powered YZ-2 and an unfamiliar transmitter on the third lap, I could not wait until Christmas!
Yokomo has always been known for top notch quality, but with this kit they have yet again excelled themselves. Hands down the best thing I have built in more than 25 years of RC, can't wait for their next 4WD buggy. :D

Yokomo YZ-2 1/10 2WD Mid Motor Competition Electric Buggy Kit
This is my first 1/10 scale buggy and by far it's very beginner friendly. I now have (2) yz2. (1) for mod and other for 17.5. Absolutely love this car. Wish they would come out with a 2wd Sct. Very easy kit to build and it comes with all the allumium upgrades. 5 stars

Hi guys!
This car is easy and great to build, everything went together super smooth. The only thing I would recommend for this Kit is that if you are running on anything but high bite get the ball diff option.
The car drives super smooth and has a ton of tuning options with the different pill inserts and caster options.
Overall I would rate the quality a 10!
