Great if you are just strictly out to bash. Very well put together. Just needs a full bearings set at very least to make sure it will last. To make them competitive in 1/18 scale racing, need lots of parts replaced. Front and rear gear diffs are too loose and torque steer your car like crazy under punching the throttle so a front spool added will fix that. Tires are awfully narrow (12mm) compared to the Apex 1/18 and the Dromida and handling suffers. These run the same 8mm hex adapters as the dromida if you want the wider wheels and tires. We upgraded to brushless setups immediately. Radio has NO adjustments outside of steering trim! Needs the EPA adjustments on the steering pretty badly, and maybe due to the stress from full left or right steering the servo gives out pretty quickly after x number of runs. Buy a Savox 0263 or similar size for a mod-free fitment of a superior servo. No body options unless you widen the crud out of the setup with 8mm -> 12mm hexes to put on m-chassis wheels and then you can use Apex 1:18 bodies. Or just use dromida wheels and then you can change to the dromida TC body.

Maybe I am being too picky here. It is only 110$ after all. Again, if you are bashing, nothing wrong with it other than the bushings and the servo hence the 4 stars.

You know it says rally but in reality it's more drift car if anything. That's not saying anything bad about it, yes if you hit something hard some part might pop off. Bearing upgrade for sure and lock the rear differential. Can't really complain that's it's not like the teton or prerunner. Those are off road this thing no but still loads of fun and bashing!

Nice vehicle for beginners. It is fun to drive to teach my young kid how to drive an RC.

Traxxas LaTrax Rally 1/18 4WD RTR Rally Racer (Red)
Super fun car, well built. I have 7 of them to use with kids, including 6,9 and 11 years old. Only my wife managed to break a body support, but replaced less than $5 and stood have a spare left. Lots of cool hop- ups, recommend bearings. Bodies are a bit fragile, so I gorilla taped the front and rear, that seems to have worked. Lots of fun, very quick with the stock set-up. Get one, you won’t regret it.

Traxxas LaTrax Rally 1/18 4WD RTR Rally Racer (Red)
I bought this as a 1st RC for my son. The car looks GREAT!!! It is one of the best looking RC in my opinion. I am a big fan of hatchback cars. One thing I didn’t like with this La Trax Rally is its durability. It breaks easily. I don’t know if its just us being beginners. All I know for sure is we didn’t abuse ours. On the 3rd charge, while we were running it, in front of our house, we heard cliks. When we picked up the car, we noticed that one wheel is not moving at all. I ended up spending on repairs. I decided to have all gears replaced with metal, I also changed all bushings with bearings. Although I spent almost $100 all in all for the repairs, now it is more durable than what it was. And we are enjoying so much. We kust call ours a modified Rally :-) If you are planning to buy this, make sure you set aside a budget for repairs. If you can do it yourself, then buy extra parts. Most likely, the bushings, the gears are the parts that you will need. Get an extra battery too. I personally recommend the Teton than this Rally if you are a beginner.

Traxxas LaTrax Rally 1/18 4WD RTR Rally Racer (Red)
PROS
- The car is easy to set up and drive.
- The handling is really good even a young kid can drive it in sport mode.
- The battery last for a good a mount of time.

CONS
- Some parts are weak especially the Front housing tower which broke after hitting with my Teton (this happened during the first 20 minutes of use of the car). The front suspension differential link came off 4 times while hitting some objects (moderate impact). I'm really surprise that the rally parts is way weak compare to the Latrax Teton that I purchased 2 weeks ago.
