Tekin Pro2 HD 4-Pole Brushless Motor (5,800kV)
I put this motor in my 2wd Associated 10.2 after a Tekin 7.5 motor went bad. Therefore, I am going to write my review based on both the 7.5 (2-pole) and this 5800kv (4-pole) for someone who might be looking for 2wd motors for the first time. (as back-ground, I have 8 2wd SCT one which is mid-motor, 3 Tekno SCT410 4x4 and other RC trucks that I do not race. I have 18 motors and 24 ESC's)

The 4-pole, 5800kv has so much speed and the power is crazy. For indoor racing, I truly believe it can hurt you if you are not willing to spend money on motor centering (4-pole is heavier), weight distribution and proper shocks/roll center/etc not to mention if you make one mistake, your ball diff will need to be rebuilt. I have raced it at Sparks Raceway in Columbus Ohio and it runs good there but that is a large track that holds the CRCRC. I also had the FWD EPA at 64% with 0* time on the motor and ESC and the battery moved completely forward with 25g of weight under the battery spacers. It might be great outside with the right set-up and you can be sure of one thing, no one will have more motor with a 2s lipo in a 2wd and if they do, they are not thinking straight.

BTW: I also have and run the 5100kv Tekin in a mid-motor and the approximately 30 extra grams are beneficial. The right set-up in mid and you can just the jumps the 4x4 SCT jump.

Tekin Pro2 HD 4-Pole Brushless Motor (5,800kV)
This is an amazing motor: the smoothest motor I've ever seen. I have this in my 22SCT with an RX8 Gen 2 and it is crazy fast, too. With the RX8 Gen 2, it will rarely temp at over 110 degrees on 8 and 10 minute runs--incredible. This is the future of 2wd SC racing for sure. When I say it is smooth, let me elaborate: when connected, with pinion attached, it rolls out like nothing is there--no cogging or anything. One additional comment: make sure your diff is ready to handle this motor. I would suggest the AVID triad set-up (red pads or garo-discs), possibly the MIP super diff, and run an aluminum idler gear in the 22SCT. Avoid the new AVID thrust washer set-up--it can't take the load.

Tekin Pro2 HD 4-Pole Brushless Motor (5,800kV)
I'm using this motor for my no prep car, and it has awesome power in hybrid mode.
The thing is... Taming it and getting the power to the ground efficiently. But it stays relatively cool, even with 15 units of boost. Allows me to make multiple passes when testing ??
