Team Associated DR10 RTR Brushless Drag Race Car (Orange)
I have zero interest in actually participating in no prep racing, but the idea of these cars intrigued me. Associated threw in the D28 for 200 bucks, and well, here we are.

Like somebody else mentioned, I always thought this thing was kind of ugly. It looks a lot cooler in person but you have to add all the stickers which is kind of a drag as it looks much better with the stripes on the side. Oh well.

Don’t expect this thing to be some speed demon right out of the box. On 2S it is pretty slow and I haven’t ventured into 3S as it’s been cold and rainy here, but I am looking forward to it. Popping wheelies like the AMain video shows it can do.

I think for the price it’s pretty solid. Definitely a lot of room for improvement for you guys wanting to compete competitively.

Team Associated DR10 RTR Brushless Drag Race Car (Orange)
Even though I didn't purchase this from Amain Hobbies I did get this car from my local hobby shop. I've been into the no prep drag racing this summer and fall so I have a little experience with it. The DR10 I purchased was in great shape. Looked solid. Out of the box, this car is slow by my standards. It gets between 23-27 mph which is fine if you're new at this hobby, genre of RC racing, and not relying on the DVC (gyro). I disabled mine before I took it out for its maiden voyage since my other car doesn't have it and most No Prep Drag Racing races don't allow it. After watching a few YouTube videos, a few guys went with a 24 tooth pinion gear and 81 tooth spur gear (stock 18 pinion/87 spur) and were getting about 35 mph with no issues of overheating the electronics (still be careful when changing gears to avoid overheating and over gearing it.). Now the cons. They are minor and I think I know why the factory set up the car this way. The slipper clutch nut was not tight. It was just tight enough so the lock nut wouldn't back itself out. Now I can understand why the take off (launch) was kind of underwhelming. I was losing power because of the slipping before the clutch engages and lets the car take off. I tightened it so the power would be more instant. Another tip: don't over tighten the slipper clutch nut. I talked to my salesman about the rumors and stories of other owners stripping out the idler gear and he said don't over tighten the slipper clutch nut and he also recommended not to use a slipper eliminator because the idler gear will be the first thing to go.

Overall this is a great product. Definitely a good affordable platform to build on and go crazy with the customization. I've watched hours on YouTube about this car. The good, the bad, and how to make it a monster on the No Prep Drag Racing scene. Since I already have a hopped up car, the DR10 will be more of my cruiser or my family and friends will use this car if we drag race.

Team Associated DR10 RTR Brushless Drag Race Car (Orange)
I luv the dragster but I must say that when i unboxed it and installed the batteries in the tx and a 2 cell lipo in the car the stering servo apparently was not properly centered.cause when I turned on the radio then the car, the steering servo turned all the way left and was locked until I turned off the car, from the factory the steering was not centered. so I removed the steering servo and undid the servosaver from the servo, i powered on the car with the radio still on and centered the the knobs for the stering and reinstalled the servo and then the servosaver with the wheels as straight as possible. Now the steering works as it should. and im now running a 3 cell lipo in it and I luv it.

Team Associated DR10 RTR Brushless Drag Race Car (Orange)
The car is a good value for the price and a great starter car for someone just getting into no prep racing. I think this car would make a great "spec car" class! Imagine an all DR10 class....run it all stock out of the box with maybe a few small rules with the tires and batteries. I would definitely run this class if it existed. With a few upgrades with the esc, motor and different tires I feel this car would be competitive in 2s no prep racing. If Associated was on the ball they would make a TEAM car with upgrades to the shocks and a few other things. Several racers on FaceBook are already starting to mod this cahssis and going faster. Good start for this car.

Team Associated DR10 RTR Brushless Drag Race Car (Orange)
Great overall car. However do not buy this thinking you can compete in no prep. This thing is pretty slow on 2s. It becomes alot more fun on 3s. Buy it and source better esc, motor, and slicks (stock ones not to sticky). You'll have something that could compete then.
