The Tamiya 1/48 Vought F4U-1A Corsair Model Airplane Kit faithfully recreates one of the most recognizable aircraft used during WWII. The F4U-1A variant of the Corsair featured an updated canopy, longer tailwheel strut, bombing window and 6-inch Stall Strips to improve carrier landing. Powered by a 2,250hp water-injected Pratt & Whitney R-2800-8W radial engine, this version of the Corsair, equipped with drop tanks, had a maximum range of over 1,500 miles. This Tamiya model comes with decals to create the VMF-111 "Devil Dogs", No. 122 that flew for the Gilbert Islands Campaign in September of 1944, or the VF-17 "Jolly Rogers", No. 1 that was stationed at Ondongs in November of 1943.
