This is the Team Durango DESC410R 4wd Short Course Truck Kit. The DESC410R from Team Durango is a truly race-bred 4WD Short Course truck. Durango has taken the fastest elements from the ground-breaking DEX410 buggy, added some new trick designs and components, and created the most race-oriented SC truck available.

Big is Beautiful
The Big Bore shocks, which come as standard on the DESC410R, are not just big, they are FAT! These bad boys will keep your truck feeling glued to the track, and when you're landing hard and heavy off monster jumps, they'll absorb all the energy, power, and punishment you can throw at them, time and time again.

550 Motors
4WD SC racing is taking electric racing to a new level. These trucks have to be tough, strong and hard to survive. They need lots of power to get rolling and lots of power to stop. The DESC410R has been designed around 550 sized brushless motors. 4WD Short Course racing needs 550 motors - 540 just doesn't cut it any more. Durango has designed the DESC410 truck so that the longer 550 motor sits with perfect weight balance in the super-tough chassis.

Its race time...Aluminum Sandwich Anyone?
Short Course racing trucks need a beefed-up chassis. The chassis on the DESC410R is a 2.5mm thick aluminum plate strengthened with 2.0mm thick aluminum side rails. Sandwiched between the aluminum are three-part composite side-rail walls. The combination of precise design and high-quality materials means that the torsional strength of the DESC410R is second to none.

Slipper Clutch. Differential in Disguise
Because so much power and torque from the 550 motors is being delivered to the Team Durango race-winning, shaft-driven, gear-diff drivetrain, Durango designers have created a slipper clutch which can be transformed into an oil-filled differential. Simply by removing the center diff locker nut and adding diff gears (available separately), you can control how power is delivered to the drivetrain by fine-tuning the slipper clutch and center diff.

Team Durango DESC410R 1/10 Electric 4WD Short Course Truck Kit
I Have the truck for a month now, its great, no broken parts yet runs good, very smooth , jumps great . I put a 550 tekin motor, used the 54T spur gear (1M), removed the center diff locker nut and installed diff gears , so far very happy with the performance

Awesome truck. I must admit it is fragile. If you're local track is really set up for 8th scale you need to go easy until you can drive like butter. I took it out to our local track and for a couple of months I broke something almost every race/practice The center diff is not really an option its a must especially if you are running 550 motors. All that said I went to a more 10th friendly track and just had a blast. If you run on 8th size track with 8th size jumps, you really have to know what you are doing as a driver. Otherwise it will be a long day then week waiting for replacement parts. Team Durango has been good to me in replacing a retail value of over $100 in parts. If you are comparing to a slash, yes you will break less in a slash, but if you learn how to drive it, its lethal. Because the truck is so light I can say it is not for a novice. Get the center diff at all costs, drive slow, and once you're comfortable you'll see how bad this truck is. Price is high though.

I have really enjoyed the design, ease of build and the way the truck handles. I think the aluminum suspension parts and a properly adjusted slipper eliminate most of the fragile issues. I wont say its a tank and it is more a drivers truck but I prefer to go around people with driving than over them with a "tank". This thing is very nimble with excellent steering and it is easy to dive under "tanks" and make the pass. I work at a local hobby shop with a track thats open every day and I run at least two charged packs everyday and this truck holds up well. I let customers drive the truck all the time and the feedback is always the same very positive with comments like "this thing is on rails". Then they usually buy one. I run a Tekin Rx8 with a Tekin 5.5 turn and it flies. My biggest complaint is parts availability our shop cant get even suspension arms. The distributor told us A-Main bought everything they had but who knows...suspension arms are backordered with them as well. The good thing is I have not broken any arms and I cant say that about most of the other cars I let customers drive. This happens when most great new cars are released and I hope it gets better soon because if you are "serious about racing" parts are needed.

I believe this kit is great and for all of those people that vote 1 star are just haters of durango. I would like to see VERIFIED OWNER above the review and then I will believe you. Dont vote a kit down if you dont know for sure about it until it is in your finger tips.

This is one of the best kits I have ever built, the quality and brilliant engineered parts have been great treat for me. Now I´m just waiting for my new Tekin motor and ESC, then this thing will really fly. Great work there Team Durango, and a big thank you to A Main Hobbies for the delivery of the kit, I´m loving my comeback into the world of RC.

Awesome truck. I run a 5.5T Novak 550 motor on a 6000mAh Max Amps battery pack & it goes very hard. Have only broken a rear suspension mount (plastic) after 4 months of use after slamming it sideways in to a cerb. Would highly recommend this kit to anyone! Very happy with Team Durango!

This truck is dominant...I have owned two hyper 10sc's two Jammin SCRT10's and a Losi Ten SCTE and all my friends have owned Associated SC10 4x4's this truck out handles all of the other trucks........I love this thing....the losi and associated are more durable but for all out speed this truck can not be beat! Just make sure you buy the aluminum rear diff holders.....so you dont break rear bulkheads.....and your golden...you wont need any other hop ups.

This is one of the lightest 4x4 out. I've ran this chassis for about 2 months so far. I haven't had any issues with the ring & pinion setup, but I'm also running a 540 sized 6.5 can. I've been running the 48p gears & under geared (102/16) a touch & boosted (15deg by 25,000rpm). I'm running a set of GenAce 4800, & can do over 10min if driven properly. The biggest pack you'll squease in is around 5400mAh. It has been rock solid preformer to date. Tweak notes: -either melt the front bumber up, or cut it off on the sides. -front hinge pins will bend, but still work. -front sway bar is worth getting. -center diff is worth getting

Team Durango DESC410R 1/10 Electric 4WD Short Course Truck Kit
I built and raced this truck for my local hobby shop and it is one of the most beautiful rides I've built. I love the way this truck drives, but I went out with the locked center diff and it was a handfull and broke the rear axle in five minutes.Ok the jump was huge and Had to try it... I replaced the locker with a diff, shoulda came in the kit by the way....but no biggie, I took it to the next race and drove it after the races and it was really nice, I ran 10 minutes and when I got home the front diff had a tooth chipped off the ring gear. I thought, oh well it may have happened on the first outing who knows. So I replaced the ring gear, the pinion was perfect. Like the previous reviewer said the ring gears should be heat treated steel, the cast metal ain't gonna cut it in a truck tht runs on 1/8th scale tracks.....and part of the problem is I race 1/8th scale so I'm hitting the jumps too hard and crashing into the landing jump. Ok I can do that, slow down. So I took it out last weekend and drove and raced it like the 1/10 scale truck it is and it ran awesome, no breaks, nada. 3 qualifiers and a main. I ran two heats with one charge. That's cool...The point is, this truck is new, and it could use some beefier ring gears, maybe a few other small overloked details, but not really a big deal. I didn't break any plastic and the Novak ESC and motor are great. I love being able to tune the esc from the switch. How cool is that....My only real complaint is the leaky center diff, it leaks onto the bearing where the outdrive exits the diff. The case side not the gear side. It will make the bearing fail sooner than it should. Most new cars have growing pains, and I'm sure Durango will fix them in time, but some of these could have been prevented in testing, just as the Durango 1/8th buggy has a few weird issues that seem obvious to whomever builds and drives it.... I will say that this truck is the most precisely engineered rc car I've ever built. Part fit and finish is way over the top. Everything fits, perfectly..... It will roll all the way down the straightaway off power, and it is quiet, I mean really smooth and quiet. Super efficient drivetrain. Ok, the front shocks, I used the smallest hole pistons and it bottomed out too easy on the workbench so I ended up adding diff oil to some 50 wt to make who knows what weight to make it right. I may end up blocking two of the piston holes with superglue to use shock oil of reasonable viscosity. to be fair the rear shocks were perfect. The final say If you drive like an idiot, don't get this truck, but if you want the truck that makes the others look like, ehm toys, then this is ur truck....
