Update- Ryan Maifield TQ and win ROAR Truggy nationals with out-of-box engine. He also pitted at 9:00 !
Ryan's tip: Run 2 x thick 0.3mm head shims when the engine is new and then after some run-in, you can lower the engine back to standard 1 x 0.2 mm and 1 x 0.3mm head shim for more power. -//- Scott Foster- Please contact Don at AE customer service for help 949-544-7500. Just broke in! Vary easy. Tuning was easy. Engine has tons of low end & good top end power! Likes to Run 235-240 on race tune. Thanks AE and A Main for Awesome engine @ a Good Price. Will be purchasing another Reedy! I would greatly recommend this Engine! |

I just finished my first race with this motor this weekend. After having some small tuning issues, i got them figured out. Coming from a GRP that race 190 to this motor that likes to run 260, i just wasnt use that.
This motor has tons of bottom, and super smooth to the top. Some people dont think it has enough top, but i think its just fine. I was holding my own with Speed 2's, and Mugen/os motors all weekend.
I cant wait to get one in my truggy now. |

My Reedy 121VR .21 ran a little hot during the break-in in my 8B, but after a couple of tanks it beagan to run at around 118 - 128 degree's. For the buggy it has a ton of power and a smooth power band. I would recomend it to my freinds, and the O.S. V-Spec to my competitors! |

Wish I would of waited for these reviews before purchasing mine. As I've found the same as the last few bad reviews posted.
Seemed to break in easily and have plenty of power, got to the track for race tuning and wow what a cluster. Nothing but lean bog or no power at all. Very hard to tune, and won't hold a tune for nothing.
I'll admit I'm no expert at tuning an engine, but I've never had these types of issues with other mills.

I will retract my previous reviews of this engine I raced with it on the weekend and it is a real let down, I have sealed my carby properly with heat resistant silicon but doesn't hold it's tune at all. On the weekend running in the finals coming up to my first pitstop about 9 minutes in all of a sudden it changed and was like it was really rich, it did this a number of times through the day, the tuning would all of sudden go off. I have over 4 gallons on the first Reedy I bought and have a few race weekends on these engines and 10+ practices ranging from 3 hours long upto 6 hours and the engine just gets better and better. My official time per tank average between my D8 and my D8T is 12 minutes and 43 seconds and the power is always on tap. Thought I screwed up the tune but realized the smallest leak of air on the outlet from my tank was loose, tightened it up and the engine was a champ the rest of the day. I see there a[…] |

Im in the market to buy a new engine!! I seen this guy in action and it seemed to run well and quick! To be honest I just got back into the game not to long ago and I hear so many opinons my head spins!! Money is not an issue but I do beleve that if u spend a chunck of change for a engine it better last and perform up to its price. Ive seen alote of guys running the v-specs by OS. and ive seen engines 50 to 80 dollars cheaper run right with them on the same pace and do it all day so what gives w[…] |

You must see a lot of things, considering the amount of reviews you have posted on items you have not owned. -//- Also at the Futaba race, I watched ryan run, and with both his RC8 and RC8T he was coming in at 6 minutes |

david mate i think you have never seen a proper race engine like a EB modded os speed have you? you think reedy is quick lol rofl, think again buddy -//- lol, there are some nasty reveiws on this thing and i own a reedy and os and i like the reedy and brisbane boy is right when he says a standard reedy will last twice as long as a os. i like the os's better though even if they dont last as long. -//- if all you guys are only worried about the price of this engine and you think your getting a bar[…] |
