Front bearings are a breeze but this tool is no match for rear bearings. Collet is soft and rounds easily. Collet is only split in half so it does not seat against the race very well. I would recommend spending the extra money for the Hudy unit. The collet is sectioned into six sections and grips the bearing much better.

What a great tool set. Just a gentle heating of the crankcase and you can remove and install bearings in a flash. One of the best tools I have purchased in years.

This tool extracts and reseats front bearings without issue. It removes and reseats front bearings effortlessly. However, my first use of this tool had absolutely no effect on extracting the rear bearing of my .21 OS Vspec engine. The bearing puller [extractor] for the rear repeatedly slipped through the inner race of the bearing. Subsequently, I had to default to the "oven method" to remove the rear bearing. This sure beats the oven method. It has worked perfectly so far. I tried it on an old engine block/bearings and I was able to install and uninstall them 3 times in 10 minutes. If you use the heat gun a little, it makes things even easier!

This tool works great for installing both front and rear bearings. But for removing a tightly fit rear bearing, you will need heat. Unfortunately, while attempting to remove my rear bearing, the flange that grabs the front side of the inner race slipped through. Once this happens, the flange is rounded off slightly, making it even less effective a rear bearing remover. My suggestion with this tool is to use heat for the rear/main bearing, when removing or installing.
