On this site it says, that if using nimh or lipo batteries, to make sure they are capable of delivering sufficient amps. On Futaba's website it says that this servo is for nicd use only, (which is a joke, because no one uses those type of batteries anymore). I contacted Futaba and they said to be sure that my system was capable of delivering 2 amps to the servo. This servo obviously draws a lot of current from your system, which is a bad thing. I'm running an SMC 2-cell lipo with a Castle Creations Mamba Max 4600 in a Losi XXX-CR. Whenever going down the back straight at the track, it sometimes cuts out for a split second, which may be from the high current draw. Overall the servo stays centered and has a decent speed considering it has 194 oz.in. of torque, (ya, I know it's overkill in my buggy). It's a good servo for the price, but it may be to much for some systems to effectively handle...maybe I'll save it for an eighth scale electric. |
