Great servo silky smooth like all the BLS servos works fine with a nickle metal battery and Lipo battery (with regulator) you will burn it up without a regulator.

After hearing that Futaba was coming out with brushless servos, I switched to this servo as my steering servo for more than two years. It has performed flawlessly in my Xray 808. I have not had to replace it or repair it. The only down side is I still have a perfectly new one sitting in my box as a back up. Just the right speed, just the right torque and the price is great. Current draw? Nope. It draws less than other servos we use for 1/8th steering duty. No receiver brown out here. […]

I have used three BLS452 for 12 months now. For both 1/8th nitro (throttle & steering) and 1/8th electric, this servo suits me perfect. No reliability issue. Probably one of the best balance performance / cost. Note: I power them with NiMH batteries on my Nitro, no problem.

On this site it says, that if using nimh or lipo batteries, to make sure they are capable of delivering sufficient amps. On Futaba's website it says that this servo is for nicd use only, (which is a joke, because no one uses those type of batteries anymore). I contacted Futaba and they said to be sure that my system was capable of delivering 2 amps to the servo. This servo obviously draws a lot of current from your system, which is a bad thing.
