Bought this and installed it today. After taking over an hour to swap from my old 540 setup, I was ready to hit the track. After less than one lap, my SC10 4x4 came to a stop! Turns out, "out of the box" the motor was already burned up! Fortunately the place I bought it swapped it (the motor) for another one they had in stock. After that it was all AWESOME! I am very pleased with the power that this 550 motor makes, although I am not super impressed with the ESC. For starters the cooling fan is not mounted very well. My truck took a spill after a jump and the cooling fan just came completely off. I will remount it using some matel screws instead of the cheap plastic screws it came with. Also the ESC seems to run much hotter than expected, especially since I am using just a two cell (which is what is recommended). Not a very good experience for the first purchase from NOVAK, but will see how long this setup lasts and maybe they can be forgiven???? |
