I own quite a few Viper products. I've had every VST motor from 6.5T to 17.5T. To me, the 7.5T is the best all around for 1/10 buggies and 2wd short course trucks where high speed straights and big jumps are part of the layout (bigger tracks). I have the 7.5T in a TLR 22 and a TLR 22SCT and get great performance. Some people say the motors are underpowered compared to the Tekin motors of the same turn. Out of the box, this is true according to kV used. However, there are so many adjustments through the Viper ESC progauge that you can turn the power up. I wouldn't suggest this since these motors tend to run cool and seem just as powerful as the Tekin motors on the track. This seems contradictory, but according to my experience, it is true. With the addition of optional rotors, this motor offers a wide range of speed/power band options. |
