These big bore shocks work rather well, and they are indeed front shocks. If you look up the specs to almost any rc car you would know that (long) or (Large) shocks are for the front, and (XX-Long) or (XX-Long) are typically for rear shocks. I bought these for a quick upgrade for my Traxxas Rustler VXL.
