This sure seems like a great batt pack and I will be ordering another one but for the AR Drone you should note that the product description on the web site is misleading. Specifically the misleading description is:
“…comes with a 4-pin Align/E-Flite style balance connector that also works with the stock AR.Drone battery charger. “
I don’t know about the Drone 1, but for the AR Drone 2 you CANNOT charge the battery with the charger that comes with the Drone. You will need a separate charger and likely also need to buy or make a proper connector for the power lead.
On the plus side it does have a little more capacity than the stock AR Drone battery, is lighter and best of all is half the price. For flight time, I got a few seconds under 11 minutes with moderate flying in conditions that were really too windy to be flying the drone.
The pack has no hard (protective) case and therefore is more susceptible to damage in hard crashes, therefore I suggest you stick with the stock battery when you are learning, or in conditions where a crash is likely. Then when you are ready stock up on these babies and fly for longer times at less cost. |
