My favorite brushed motor. I run this in my factory team T4 with a 23t pinion and a 4500 2s lipo on a midsize loose offroad track. I get very controllable acceleration, controllable punch, and very good top speed. I tried brushless motors in the same vehicle and they were very hard to control with any pinion and eventually sheared CVDs and dogbones with any pinion/slipper combo. I have found in this vehicle that brushless has unpredictable punch, and unpredictable low end. A popular recent issue rc mag has even stated they prefer the low end of brushed better (which I agree with with one exception: the first gen brushless peak/orion motors w/internal fan have excellent low end). This motor is the remedy for all the things I dont like in brushless. It is predictable, linear, and not OVERpowered. |
