I was never very sure this power supply was capable of the full output as with two chargers running, I could never set the chargers high enough to pull the full 40. The main output is the only one good for more than 16amps, so I would put one charger on the main terminals at 20 amps and the other, on one of the other outputs. Anything over 6-8 amps from the second (total amp draw of less than 30) would make the power supply sag enough to make the chargers (Hyperion 720iNet3) shut down. After abo[More…] |

This is a nice unit. I like having 40 amps to play with and the fact that you have control over the power that goes to each of your chargers.
It is much larger than I was expecting. I should have done a metric conversion on the size listed within the ad to understand just how big this bad boy is. I can sit two Thunder Power TP610C Chargers on top of the Super Pro 40 Power Supply with room to spare. (I don't keep them there, this is just to give you an idea how big it is). The fan is a bit [More…] |

Plugged in and put two chargers and 4 batteries at 3300mah each, 1C charge rate. Voltage dropped from 13.74v to 10.9v and my Hyperion charger shut off. Ran Hyperion alone, 2 batteries at 3.3A each, dropped a FULL VOLT.
>>My 14A, 6 year old Associated Power supply handles this same load like a champ. (BTW, 520W at 13.8 volts is closer to 37.7A...so don't take that 40A value to heart)
>>Case is not level, very cheaply made. When shut off, it continues to run for 3-4 seconds while it bleeds of[More…] |

I have to say mine lasted just past the warranty period and then thermistor Ntc 5d-20 went and I was without a power supply. After spending $150.00 on this, I'm pretty annoyed that proteck doesn't do better on their warranty. It seems like many other people have experienced the same issue. My advice would be to stay away from this brand unless they give a better warranty. When it worked it was great but Im hesitant to spend money again on this brand. |

The power supply looks great and is very light for it's ouput, however it is unreliable. Mine failed after charging about 14 - 16 packs. Due to my demanding work schedule the power supply was rarely used and only transported to the racetrack 3 times in over a year. I can't recommend something that fails with such light use (infrequently used and only charged 2S packs. Not demanding for a 40A supply!) and that was so well cared for. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS PRODUCT AND I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT[More…] |

It worked great for approx 5 days. Used it to charge 8-10 batteries. I took it to a huge race (240 entries) & it would not turn on. Needless to say it nearly ruined my entire race weekend, & completely ruined my trust in the "protek" brand. I'm very upset with this product & a main for selling this piece of junk. I would recommend all prospective buyers stay away.
I just hope the refund is credited to my account as quick as the debits are removed. |

Awesome power supply. Matches up perfectly with my iCharger 3010b which requires 20-30amps for fast charging large lipo batteries or parallel charging multiple packs. Highly recommended! |

The power supply is really nice. I've used it to hook up my ProTek 208B charger and am waiting for my other charger to arrive. I'll then have three chargers I can connect and test with the Super Pro 40.
A Main Hobbies.com continues to provide really good service and support and have a teriffic staff who always makes you feel valued. |

Love mine! Still using it for over year and it never failed once, going strong! I also use the Protek 620 duo and I will usually charge my packs around 8-12amps depending on what I am racing that day (most of the time I'll charge two 2s packs at a time) |

Someone in quality control must be sleeping at the controls. I had a nut jingling around inside. Other then that this is my second pro 40 my first one lasted about 2 years then the thermistor ntc 5d-20 burnt out inside. If your charging 6s batteries on higher C rating might want to get the pro 1000. |

Purchased one of these when I ordered a ProTek Prodigy 610 DUO charger. All I can say is it works great! This combination of 610 Charger/Super Pro 40 power supply will easily handle almost all of my charging needs, with the added capacity to plug an additional charger into if needed. Well made. |

The Super Pro 40 Power Supply fits my needs perfectly. I fly electric heli's and this 40 amp power supply (p/s) delivers to my charger all the power it needs to charge the LiPo packs quickly with no signs of power sagging. The p/s is not too large or heavy for my taste and I am able to stack my charger on the top of the p/s without any fear of heat building up since the fan on the p/s is on the rear and the intakes are on the side. The fan is quiet and could be easily replaced by me, WHEN and[More…] |

To Concerned,
I've purchased one of these supplies, the Super Pro 40 about 3 months or so ago and I have a ProTek 208 charger which I have connected to the first leg of supply from left to right. And what happened is the female connection on the charger I suspect is of weak material because I had a terminal melt and the indicator light failed do to a heat related power draw by the charger. so as it is not listed on or in the manuel but the four terminals in front with switches and indicator l[More…] |

Hi a main hobbies
Any chance to see one day a 220-240 Volts version for european customers?
I'm a little bit jealous of you american fellows, because that power supply is exactly what I need. Only the input voltage is too low.
I cross my fingers and hope it will come soon
Thanks
