Works great and a great price. I didn't change the bearings and it works great for me.

this balancer works great! only after doing just two easy tweaks ,before assembling it remove plastic dirt shields and discard them ,rinse off bearing w/lacquer thinner to remove any grease or heavy oil ,after blowing dry ,lube w/ automatic transmission fluid [its very thin weight]

Warning :-) If u want to buy one, you have to replace bearings (2 standard 8x16) before asembling. Those that comes with balancer are the chaepest, slowest, high resistance bearings with rubber (!!!?) seal. And it is just impossible to balance any wheel with that. I use two medium class refubrished (by myself) bearings and balancer works perfectly.

I have had this balancer for over a year now and works great, I replaced the bearings with some ceramics I had around. The stock bearings will work fine once you do the things the other reviewers mentioned ie shield removal and cleaning grease out(had to do it to the ceramics as well). I like the stand, it is sturdy and precise in it's machining as it spins true.

This item is well worth it. VERY sturdy design. I agree with everyone about the bearings. I actually had better luck taking off the rubber seals, using nitro cleaner to get out all of the grease, and then putting 1 drop of household 3-n-1 oil in each. Also I did not re-seal the bearings. They are VERY smooth this way, and it works like a charm.

After cleaning out the bearings it works great. Good buy.

Thankyou to the poeple who posted about the bearings. I was utterly dissapointed when I spun up the first buggy wheel. Then I was stoked to find the solution on here. You can use the bearings which come with it, you just need to remove rubber seals and clean out the grease, replace with oil. Thanks again. :)

Followed the advice of other users. Once the rubber seal was removed balancer worked flawless!!!!!

Agree, the bearings don't rotate freely, thus preventing the lighter buggy tires from balancing. I removed the rubber seal from the bearings and now it is hooked up. Great buy versus other balancers.

Money to function ratio I think its a bit expensive. Since the tool is dependent on bearings to balance the wheels, there is actually too much friction within the bearings for this setup to actually find the heaviest part of the wheel even though bearings are well lubricated. In hindsight I would THINK I have NOT tried it that an airplane prop setup would work more acurately.

Works great. Uses regular 8x16 bearings. Cheaper than hudy. This is my first balancer and balancing tires is simple. I also used the dynamite lead tape.
