The ultra-realistic SC8 was designed to look like full-size 4WD race trucks that compete on short course off-road tracks around the country. Team Associated's all-new SC8e kit brings all of that scale excitement to those who prefer the awesome performance, convenience, and cleanliness of electric power.

Like the SC8, the SC8e was designed to meet the scale specifications and handling of full-size short course race trucks. It's all there! A durable and realistic clear race truck body, KMC(TM) wheels with realistic off-road tires, scale suspension travel, full roll-cage, and functional mud flaps result in an unparalleled scale experience.

Good looks mean nothing without the engineering to back it up. Team Associated's engineering team has developed a practical chassis design that incorporates the same exceptional strength, durability, cornering capability, jumping ability, and rough track handling that characterize the nitro SC8. With special features such as a hard anodized machined chassis, correctly balanced and optimized weight distribution, composite Big Bore shocks featuring 4mm gold shafts, and upgraded steering system, the SC8e is right at home on the race track - just like its full-size counterparts.

Team Associated SC8e 1:8 Scale 4WD Electric 2WD Short Course Truck
Update review: I switched to the 2650 and got much better performace, better in air control, longer runtimes, smoother driving, and more when compared to the 2200. Now my runtimes are 15+ minutes on the same track! I am also now able to get the full 80% of juice out of my lipos. The voltage cutoff is being reached later into the run. The lipos also run cooler. My truck does a less nose diving now too (sc8 and sc8e are notorious for nosediving. Im sure those are just some of the reasons castle recommends the 2650 for buggies instead of the 2200. -//- Update Review: Still loving it. I have over 20 runs with little problems. One wheel bearing blew apart. My king pin screws both L+R fell out with the keyed inserts so I got some more screws with the keyed inserts. There was some confusion as to what shock springs it uses. Apparently the first sc8,rc8,rc8t did not have big bores so you have to find in the manual/parts list the updated correct ones as both are listed. It is a little harder to pull the nose up when jumping compared to a ebuggy but that can probably be attributed to a longer wheel base chassis (rc8t) and the weight that comes with it. For that reason I recommend 30c or higher lipos. The extra punch will pull the nose up a little more on jumps. My tire sidewalls wore odd. Like most short courses the outside wheel diameter is small but the inside wheel diameter is big. If I press on the outside tire side wall I can feel hard plastic fingers inside the wheel which are wearing on the outer sidewall to the point I have a few tears started. I can only get 9-12 minutes of hot fast track time with 4s 20c 5000mah and 6400mah (13t/stock spur/2200 monster). The packs fade at that point but still have 40-60% left in them. I try to follow the general lipo rule of leaving 20% (using 80%) but everyone on the net is saying the same thing under race condtions you only get 10 min. I believe official electric 1/8 races are 10 min so this might be why. -//- Very fun and durable! Blows away slash and Eslash! The diffs were prebuilt, tires were preglued, and some of the links were assembled to make building easier. I crashed into a curb so hard the whole right side was stuck up in the wheel well and after I forced it out nothing was broken! I had a few crashes I would think would break it but it keeps going. The tires squeal on smooth surfaces which makes me feel like I'm in Hazzard County! The tires dont grip like racing buggy tires so it does plow when turning off throttle but something tells me they were designed that way to encourage you to nail it and drift around corners just like the real trucks. The plowing can be lessened with grippier tires or by using diff oils other than the one included. The tires show a little wear after 3 hours of driving so I think they will last awhile! 2 areas to watch you dont strip screws on during assembly: the set screw pin that holds on the lower shock mount and the 2 very short flathead screws furthest back on the battery tray. I wish the battery tray had taller sides so I could stack 2 2s batteries horizontally but they seem to be ok vertically. Dont trust the pictures for 1:1 turbuckle and camber link measurements mine were way off! I used 40wt shock oil instead of the included oil for a slightly stiffer ride and Im glad I did. I might bump the springs up front and rear one or two stiffer to elimate a tick more roll and so I can take bigger jumps. I used the included diff oil which is the same for all 3 diffs and it seems to send equal power to all wheels. The body is clear so get some paint. I did the body blue and the cage area black with some realistic graphics. The whole point of this truck is scale realism and it is very well carried out from the big rollcage, rubber mud flaps, detailed body, realistic handling tires, firewall flaps, drift style slightly soft (in stock form) handling, and KMC wheels. If you run a Mamba Monster 2200 motor you need to put spacers under the diff mount or else it wont fit. The included diff spacer is not thick enough for the 2200 by itself. The 2200 has enough power on 4s with the 15t pinion to break the tires loose on all surfaces but it is still easy to control. You can try 5s or 6s but it might get hairy! For diff mount spacers I used HPI super star washers part #6125. With 2 2S SMC 20c 5000mah and the included 15t pinion I am getting 25 minutes runtime and 37.5 mph.
