This is a set of two pre-mounted 30 shore Gecko Electric 1/10th scale foam tires from Adams Racing. The Gecko foam rubber technology uses compounds with a unique blend of polymers, fillers, oils and other special materials combined with a unique manufacturing process that individually molds a single piece of foam rubber to get consistent high performance properties throughout the tire.
By optimizing the rubber in the contact patch, Gecko tires exhibit a consistent hardness throughout the tire, across the width and around the circumference, producing a tire that is more consistent than laminated sheet foam tires. A criticism of conventional ‘laminated sheet’ foam tires is that you do get a variation in the hardness across the tread width which creates variations in density and weight. Due to centrifugal forces, this will give an uneven contact patch profile at high rpm. When combining the consistent hardness with the unique cell structure of the ‘in house’ rubber compound formulations, this results in the high grip and excellent tire life that Gecko Tires are known for.
