This is an optional Feathering shaft sleeve and 80° main rotor damper
set for the Align 500 line of helicopters. The Feathering
shaft sleeve fits over the feathering shaft to keep it centered in the
main rotor housing and avoid excessive pressure on the Main rotor
dampers during high collective maneuvers. The 80° dampers provide a firm but flexible support of the feathering shaft and
main blades while allowing the rotor assembly to "flap" normally which
reduces vibration in the rotor head assembly.
