T-Maxx is the truck everyone is talking about! The award-winning Traxxas T-Maxx is the world’s premier 4-wheel drive R/C monster truck. It’s innovative, cutting edge design captured the imagination of performance-hungry enthusiasts everywhere and now it has become the hobby’s best selling R/C monster truck. Ever. Nothing else comes close to matching the T-Maxx’s perfect balance of tire-shredding horsepower, quick acceleration, agile handling, huge suspension travel, and 40+ mph top speed. Only a T-Maxx can bring all these performance attributes together in a single package that’s made to go anywhere, anytime.

It’s an incredibly fun driving experience you just can’t get anywhere else. It’s no wonder T-Maxx has broken every sales record, has the largest aftermarket accessory support ever produced for an R/C model, and has an almost cult-like following of T-Maxx loyalists. Look no further. The one to get is right here!

What is it?
The T-Maxx is a 1/10 scale, 4-wheel drive monster truck. It is part of the Maxx family of trucks, manufactured solely by Traxxas. The T-Maxx is powered by the TRX 2.5 Racing Engine.

This 2.5cc multi-port, rear exhaust, two-stroke engine runs on fuel blended with alcohol and nitromethane, and is capable of turning nearly 50,000rpms! In a recent review by R/C Nitro Magazine, they called it “the most powerful small block engine we have ever tested,” and their readers voted it Best Engine in the Reader’s Choice Awards. The TRX 2.5 is equipped with Traxxas’ exclusive EZ-Start™ Electric Starting System. Starting the engine is as simple as pushing a button! T-Maxx is fitted with a two-speed forward and reverse transmission. You shift between forward and reverse by pressing a conveniently located grip-mounted selector on the transmitter. Only the T-Maxx’s patented design allows you maintain smooth, fully proportional control over your throttle and braking in both forward and reverse gears. Before T-Maxx, if a nitro-powered model got stuck facing a wall, you had to go rescue it. With T-Maxx, simply press a button to back out of trouble! The adjustable two-speed also shifts automatically in forward and reverse (try challenging yourself to drive backwards well-enough to hit second gear!). T-Maxx may be most famous for it's amazing, fully independent suspension and 8 oil-filled shock absorbers (2 at each wheel). With nearly 4 inches of suspension travel at each wheel and the plush feel of the oil-filled shocks, T-Maxx is equipped to drive over nearly anything at mind-boggling speeds. Combine that with the T-Maxx’s legendary durability and you find that absolutely nothing handles the rough stuff better than a T-Maxx. It comes fully assembled and Ready-To-Race® right out of the box. Install batteries, put on a few decals and your ready-to-run. The included radio system is installed, adjusted and the fuel mixture on the engine is pre-set to break-in specs. Whether you’re a novice or a pro, a professionally produced DVD is included to take you through the set-up and engine break-in procedure.

High-Volume Air Intake System
The TRX 2.5 Racing Engine uses a high-volume air intake system with a two-stage air filter. The filter housing and neck are designed to mate seamlessly with the carburetor to eliminate turbulence in the air-flow going into the engine.

Tuned Exhaust System
Call it a factory “works” pipe. The header and pipe length and shape are dyno-tuned for the TRX 2.5 to bring out the most power over the broadest RPM range. All that means is you can nail the throttle hard at any speed and get some serious 4-wheel roost.

EZ-Start™ Electric Starting System
The Traxxas EZ-Start consists of an onboard drive unit that lights the glow plug and spins the engine for easy push-button starting from the handheld control module. The controller contains diagnostic LEDs that provide real-time status of the glow plug and starter motor. It tells you if the glow plug is bad and protects the starter motor from overloading. The EZ-Start system is powered by a standard rechargeable 7.2 volt battery pack. Once you’ve used the EZ-Start system, you may never go back to pull-starters again!

Forward/Reverse 2-Speed Transmission
T-Maxx’s fully enclosed transmission features 2-speeds forward and 2-speeds reverse with a speed-sensitive reverse lockout. It provides racing-truck acceleration in low gear and 40+mph top speeds in high gear. Shifting is hard, fast, and automatic with an adjustable shift point! Just push a button on the TQ-3 transmitter to shift into reverse. Only the patented T-Maxx design allows full proportional control of throttle and braking, along with 2-speed shifting, in both forward and reverse gears (patent# 6367345).

Adjustable Slipper Clutch
T-Maxx is equipped with an adjustable slipper clutch to absorb drivetrain shocks and protect against damage…especially after those 30-foot jumps you just couldn’t resist. Standard spur gears are used to allow easy changes to the overall gearing.

Disc Brake
T-Maxx uses a disc brake mounted forward of the transmission to provide powerful 4-wheel braking action and sure-footed stopping power. A fiberglass-composite disc and stainless steel pads are used for long life and reliability.

U-Joint Slider Driveshafts
The large diameter slider driveshafts are made to take abuse. With real u-joints at each end and variable-length sliding half shafts, our driveshafts allow longer suspension travel, no binding, and less friction than metal “dog-bone” shafts. The Traxxas driveshaft material absorbs impacts and stress loads that break skinny metal drive shafts. It’s a superior, better-engineered solution.

Hardened-Steel Differentials
Hardened-steel ring and pinion gears have been precisely engineered to deliver quiet, efficient operation and reliable performance. The integrated planetary gear differentials also use hardened steel gears for tough, virtually maintenance-free running. They’re made to take the rigorous off-road pounding that comes so naturally for a T-Maxx.

Three-Channel Radio System
T-Maxx includes the TQ-3 pistol grip radio system with two standard servos, and one high-torque servo. Three dedicated channels provide full control over T-Maxx’s throttle/braking, steering, and shifting functions. The TQ-3 delivers up to a quarter-mile range, electronic trim controls, low-battery indicator, servo-reversing, and the exclusive grip-mounted shifter.

High-Torque Steering Servo
A big truck needs a powerful steering servo for responsive performance. The included Traxxas high-torque servo delivers over 80 in/oz of torque.

Bellcrank Steering System
The bellcrank steering system provides precise steering geometry for correct Ackerman and almost no bump steer, even with T-Maxx’s huge suspension travel. The supplied bellcrank bushings can replaced with ball-bearings for even smoother steering performance.

Ready-To-Race®
T-Maxx comes fully-assembled and Ready-To-Race right out of the box. The TQ-3 radio system is installed and adjusted. The engine is installed and factory-tuned to break in settings. Even the body is painted and ready for the die-cut decals. In almost no time at all your set-up and driving!

Painted ProGraphix™ body
Traxxas pioneered and perfected the art of applying incredible pre-painted graphics to Lexan R/C truck bodies. It could take hours (if not days) of work and many dollars in paint and supplies to try and duplicate the colorful, detailed graphics that come on the T-Maxx body, right out of the box.

That Famous Maxx Suspension
One of the hallmarks of the T-Maxx is its incredible WideMaxx 4-wheel independent suspension. Wicked long travel, nearly 4 inches at each wheel, is ready to take on just about the roughest terrain you can imagine. Eight oil-filled shocks (2 at each wheel) deliver that plush feel and “bottomless” suspension travel T-Maxx is famous for. The WideMaxx is fully tuneable for the track with up to 10 shock-mounting positions, adjustable front caster angle, front and rear toe, and front and rear camber angles.

Oil-Filled Ultra Shocks
Traxxas oil-filled Ultra Shocks are fully tuneable for race-inspired performance. The spring pre-load is adjustable via precise clip-on spacers making it easy to know that each shock is adjusted to the same spec. Rubber pressure bladders prevent air pockets and foaming common with bladderless designs. Double o-ring seals in the shock body prevent leaking.

Full Ball Bearings
Nothing less than the precision of smooth-running ball bearings is good enough for T-Maxx. Faster performance, less maintenance, and no need to plan for a costly upgrade are just a few of the benefits.

6061-T6 Aluminum Chassis
The 3mm aluminum chassis is stamped from durable 6061-T6 aluminum and then anodized in beautiful blue. Besides forming a rigid backbone for the rest of the truck, the aluminum acts like a heat sink to draw additional heat away from the engine. All of the systems and components are neatly arranged on the chassis for easy cleaning and servicing.

High Ground Clearance
The unique T-Maxx chassis design offers maximum center ground clearance (over 4 inches) to eliminate the high-centering and chassis dragging that plague flat-chassis monster trucks. Plus it maintains that tall, authentic monster truck look.

Heavy-Duty Nylon Construction
The T-Maxx isn’t just made of plastic. Its parts are molded from various types of composite-filled nylon that strike the perfect balance of rigidity and resistance to breakage. Traxxas has been perfecting the formula for years! We can’t promise that you’ll never, ever break something, but you can count on the T-Maxx for superior durability and you’ll be amazed at the kinds of crashes and daredevil stunts it can withstand.

Battery and Receiver Boxes
The batteries, on/off switch, and the receiver are placed inside of molded, dirt-resistant boxes (with gaskets) to protect them from water, debris, and damage.

Wheels/Tires
The wheels are molded from durable nylon and carefully engineered be strong with the least amount of weight. The monster 5.75”h x 3.5”w tires use foam inserts so that the tire carcass can be thinner and lighter. The wheels feature a metalized finish that provides the realistic look of real aluminum without the weight. It all adds up to lower rotating mass and quicker acceleration.

Traxxas T-Maxx 2.5 4wd RTR Nitro Monster Truck (Forward/Reverse)
Bought this truck because I wanted a truck with reverse. I have a nitro rustler with the same engine so breaking it in was exactly the same, that was nice. Since then I have had problems tuning it but I will work it out. I recommend this truck basically because of all the support they give you and also after market parts are endless.

Traxxas T-Maxx 2.5 4wd RTR Nitro Monster Truck (Forward/Reverse)
The Traxxas T-maxx 2.5 is a Really nice truck. I got this for my first Nitro car and never had any problems with it. The motor was awsome and it never gave me any problems. I have been racing this thing hard core for 3 gallons pretty much stock and the only thing i broke was a a-arm. Overall awsome truck but if you have the extra money i would go with the T-maxx 3.3 alot more power.
