This is the latest version of the Traxxas E-Maxx that includes two 8.4V 7-Cell 3000mAh batteries with Traxxas connectors in the box!

The new Traxxas E-Maxx® takes 4WD monster truck thrashing to the next level of fun and excitement. To go along with the torquey 16.8-volt EVX-2 dual-motor power system, key improvements have been engineered into the suspension, driveline, chassis, and electronics to make this the toughest, most versatile E-Maxx ever. The new E-Maxx is equipped with Revo® sealed pivot ball suspension; dual-servo steering; an all-new transmission; Revo sealed differentials; a new, longer chassis; and weather-sealed electronics. And that’s just the start. Everywhere you look on E-Maxx Traxxas engineers have thoughtfully integrated new enhancements and features that make E-Maxx stronger, easier to use, and most importantly, more fun!

70% of the earth’s surface is covered by water. E-Maxx says… “Bring it on!”
E-Maxx is equipped with sealed electronics that eliminate boundaries and let you drive where you want to drive. E-Maxx lets you blaze new trails through water, mud, snow and other wet-running conditions that wouldn’t have been possible before. Since water is no longer the enemy, E-Maxx opens up a whole new world of 4x4 adventure and fun.

Ready For Brushless
E-Maxx is equipped with an all-new transmission that’s been engineered to handle nearly 2 ½ times more torque than the original, and yet do it in a more compact package. Extra-wide gears, smart use of steel components, and the Revo®-Spec Torque-Control™ slipper all combine for the strength needed to handle the extreme power and torque that’s possible with today’s battery and motor technology. The design positions the motors closer to the chassis for a lower cg and improved handling. An optional bolt-in two-speed is available for shift-on-the-fly gearing options. Revo-Spec large diameter sealed driveshafts and sealed differentials are used for massively increased torque handling and long-lasting performance. Since the diffs are completely sealed, they can be fine-tuned with different oil viscosities to adjust the limited-slip action.

16.8-Volt Power System
The waterproof Traxxas EVX-2™ is optimized to deliver massive power from dual 7-cell battery packs. The EVX-2 packs a serious punch, belting out over 16 volts of power to the twin 550 high-torque motors. Titan 550 motors feature 30% longer motor armatures than a standard 540 size motor for monster big block torque. An internal fan helps keep the motors running at optimal temperatures for maximum power. Mash the throttle for wheelies on demand and absolutely mind-bending monster truck action that only E-Maxx can deliver. Designed by Traxxas, the EVX-2 features three drive profiles, thermal shutdown protection, and Traxxas high-current battery connectors. The EVX-2 also includes our exclusive, patent-pending Training Mode.™ This profile reduces the overall power output of the EVX-2 by 50% making it easier for young or new drivers to develop their control skills before unleashing full-power operation. The EVX-2 is manufactured by Traxxas to ensure the highest level of quality and support, plus it’s backed by the exclusive Traxxas Lifetime Electronics Warranty.

Extended Wheelbase,Low CG Chassis
The chassis design is all new with 30mm of increased wheelbase for improved stability. The new battery compartments position the batteries lower, angled in towards the center of the truck for improved handling and cornering stability. The new stronger chassis braces work together with a new center skid plate to greatly enhance chassis strength and torsional rigidity.

Easy, Fast Battery Installation
Traxxas engineers are always looking for ways to make Traxxas products the standard for ease of use. The new snap-lock battery hold downs speed battery installation. Press a lever to release, snap them in to lock. Securing your batteries takes just seconds and there are no clips to lose. The new configurable battery compartments are designed to easily accept either 6 or 7-cell battery packs and are scaleable to fit today’s battery technology and beyond. Precision metric hex hardware is used through the E-Maxx for easy servicing and a high-tech look.

Dual Servo Steering System
Dual, waterproof, high-torque servos drive a new heavy-duty bellcrank steering system. The integrated servo saver and smooth ball bearings combine with the dual-servo muscle to deliver the most powerful and precise Maxx® steering system ever.

Traxxas E-Maxx 16.8V RTR Monster Truck (w/Two 8.4V/3000mAh Batteries!)
update review: 2 speed must be shifted at very low speed or at a stop (the original emaxx could be shifted on the fly even at high speed). The chassis is pretty weak so these upgrades are almost mandatory (needed even faster if going brushless): big bore shocks, rpm arms, rpm towers, aluminum chassis, aluminum bulkheads, cvds for driveshafts, cvds for wheel axles. Fast lane machines has aluminum chassis for $100 and kershaw designs is a little more. Those upgrades are around $350 inaddition to the cost of the truck and batteries. The good thing is you dont have to buy them all at onces you can replace things as you break them. This truck really can cost as much or more than a much better built racing truggy when fully built. I think it shines in brushed motor form especially with a 650, 750, or 775 motor combo because then it is waterproof. These guys have a very good review which supports everything I said http://www.robotwars.00server.com/emaxxfaq.html -//- Update review: This truck is great for waterproof driving. If converting to brushless though consider an truggy conversion. I was dissapointed with durability though. I have broken the front arms twice, bulkheads twice, shock towers, main chassis, lots of hinge pins, and broke many bulkheads just to name a few. And for some reason with brushless screws keep working their way loose and driveshafts keeps twisting until they break! Now if you add up necessary hopups to build a durable brushless Emaxx it becomes cheaper to build a better performing brushless truggy. The way I see it the brushless Emaxx needs: traxxas cvds for driveshafts, traxxas cvds for axles, aluminum main chassis (gorillamaxx or kershaw designs), aluminum bulkheads, rpm arms, rpm shock towers, and more! That really adds up. Or you can buy a truggy, a conversion kit, and a brushless system that can handle more abuse and outperform the Emaxx. When built up in brushless form with lipo this thing can jump surprisingly well (better than my similarly built Erevo)! But like I said where the Emaxx shines is in stock waterproof form and as of late there are no waterproof truggy conversions for an alternative. So make your choice. Its a great vehicle if you know what your getting into but most people dont. -//- Faster on 16.8 nimh than 14.8 lipo (but heavier)! Most people assume lipo is faster but it lacks the voltage with the evx2. The stock setup is very satisfying. It really does hit 30 mph with high quality batteries. The Novak Hv 7.5 is nearly identical performance but way longer runtimes than the stock Titan 550 motors. The Novak 6.5, 5.5, 4.5, only increase performance over the stock motors topping out at 38+ mph for the 4.5 (with high performance batteries). I get 30.7 mph and 30 min. runtime from 4 cell 4500 lipo with the 6.5 and 14t gear. I get 33mph from nimh 14 cell 4200 with the 6.5 and 30 min. runtime with 14t gear. I live in Kansas and when temps get above 90 degrees I have to gear my 6.5 to 30 mph to keep it from thermalling. I wish novak included a ESC AND motor fan for the 6.5 pro system but unfortunatly they dont. I was skeptical about a one speed transmission at first but so far so good. An automatic 2 speed would be nice to keep motor temps down a bit on acceleration but this is a good deal none the less and you can add a manual 2 speed if you want for around $45 + 3 channel radio. The flat bed of the body cracks fast so I got a crowd pleaser style body that does not have a flat bed for added strength. The tires lack turning grip. I upgraded to the talons for much better performance. Other than that no breakage or gripes! I am more of a racer than a basher and I was pleasantly surprised. I saved about $100 over the erevo. I built a manual 2 speed Erevo years ago so I can compare the Emaxx 16.8. When I launch off of a jump the nose is usually high but it straightens itself out if I leave it alone in the air (I dont even tap the brakes). This is way cheaper than a BL truggy conversion. It has about 2/3 the performance of my 8ight T. Sometimes its nice to only have a on/off switch to deal with and I can run it even at midnight on a cool summer night as it is silent compared to nitro. With 90-110 degree outdoor temps I was forced to make a decision: stock waterproof titan 550s at 30 mph or novak 6.5 brushless at 30 mph. Tough choice!

Traxxas E-Maxx 16.8V RTR Monster Truck (w/Two 8.4V/3000mAh Batteries!)
Got my new E-Maxx from A-Main Hobbies today (great online store, they have never failed me in the past!!). I am quite impressed with the simplicity of design and durable looks. I charged the 8.4/3000 packs that came with it and went out to run. Definitely glad I ordered some 4500 packs already, as run time was about 12 minutes (but I was running in long grass). I am quite pleased with the truck.
I have ordered the RPM shock towers, skid plates, front a-arms, and true-track rear arms. I have also ordered a rcsolutions roll cage. I flipped it many times (mostly braking on the traction-rich grass). Great performance, and my dog loves to chase it (she learned quickly (the hard way) not to chase my helicopters when I'm landing/taking off. She won't get hurt too badly chasing this, so fun for all! :)
I am letting the batts cool down then will charge and maybe run again.
Glad I bought it.

Traxxas E-Maxx 16.8V RTR Monster Truck (w/Two 8.4V/3000mAh Batteries!)
Great truck for bashing, only bad things are the bulkheads, mine broke on the first run. Get aluminum from the start then nothing can stop it.

Traxxas E-Maxx 16.8V RTR Monster Truck (w/Two 8.4V/3000mAh Batteries!)
Great Truck!! I have put this thing through some major abuse. And had converted it to Twin VXL, and now to MMM on 6s. Great for bashing. Only thing i dont care for is the slipper clutch. If your going to run lipo you need to lock up the slipper.
