This is the Novarossi REX R57HR 3D .57 5 Port Standard Plug Helicopter engine, and is intended for use with 50 class helicopters.
Recommended Fuel: REX 3D Helicopter engines are designed to work with fuel mixtures which have at least the following specifications:
Nitro: min 10% - max 30%; Oil: min 18% - max 22%.
Glowplug: The REX 3D Helicopter engines use a "Short Body" type HR3 glowplug which cannot be changed for Standard or Turbo type glowplug!
Crankshaft: The crankshaft is made from high quality steel and is available in Turbo 1/4" x 28 version.
Sleeve: The sleeve has 5 transfer ports and is made from iron.
Carter: The crankcase is a new design which fits without modification in most commercial available .50 sized Helicopters.
Backplate: The backplate of the R57HR 3D has been optimized to reduce the dead spaces inside the crankcase.
Weight: With the use of high tech materials the total weight of the R57HR 3D is kept down to 425grams.
Piston: The piston that is used in this engine is made from an special alloy which makes it very strong, yet ultra light. Novarossi also developed a ring on top of the piston skirt, this will increase lubrication and decrease the wear on the piston.
Carburetor: This engine uses a rotary throttle valve carburetor.
